Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 1 pound ground chuck beef (80% lean)

  • ¾ cup chopped yellow onion

  • 1 (1.25 ounce) package chili seasoning mix

  • 1 (16 ounce) can beans in chili-seasoned sauce, undrained

  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained (such as Hunt's)

  • 1 (10 ounce) can diced tomatoes and green chiles, undrained (such as RO*TEL Original)

  • 1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce (such as Hunt's)

  • 1 cup water

Directions

  1. Cook and stir beef and onion in a large saucepan over medium-high heat until beef is crumbly and no longer pink, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain.

  2. Stir in seasoning mix. Add beans, diced tomatoes, tomatoes and green chiles, tomato sauce, and water; bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to medium and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 10 minutes.

Recipe Tip

This chili can also be made with ground turkey in place of ground beef.
