Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 6 servings

  • 6 hot dogs

Directions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil.

  2. Meanwhile, cut hot dogs in half, crosswise. Make 3 cuts on one side of each hot dog, leaving about 1/3 rounded end of hot dog uncut for octodog head. Flip hot dog; make 3 more cuts on other side, so you have 8 legs

  3. Cook octodogs in boiling water until cooked through and legs curl up, about 1 minute.

Cook's Notes:

You can use sesame seeds or bits of nori (dried seaweed) to create little faces on the octodogs if you wish. These guys have a lot of character on their own though! Use different sizes of hot dogs to create different sized octodogs!
