Ingredients

  • 1 (16 ounce) package farfalle (bow tie) pasta

  • cup butter

  • 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream

  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

  • ground black pepper to taste

  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook bow tie pasta at a boil, stirring occasionally, until cooked through yet firm to the bite, about 12 minutes; drain and return pasta to the pot.

  2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat; add cream and garlic cloves. Simmer until heated through, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and discard garlic cloves. Stir cream sauce into bow tie pasta; season with black pepper. Add Parmesan cheese; toss until cheese melts.

Tips

If using canned Parmesan cheese (green can), you need to use cream in the sauce. If you use regular milk, the Parmesan will clump together into one piece.
