Homemade dog food is easy to make with ground turkey, rice, and vegetables. I have made my own dog food ever since my dogs were puppies — 4 years now! You can also add it to their kibble. They love it!

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 5 servings

  • 1 pound ground turkey

  • 6 cups water

  • 2 cups brown rice

  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary

  • ½ (16 ounce) package frozen broccoli, carrots and cauliflower combination

Directions

  1. Place ground turkey, water, rice, and rosemary into a large Dutch oven. Stir until ground turkey is broken up and evenly distributed throughout the mixture; bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes.

  2. Add frozen vegetables, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Refrigerate until using.
