Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 24 servings

  • 1 (15.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix

  • 2 large eggs

  • ½ cup shortening

  • 1 tablespoon water

  • ¾ cup confectioners' sugar

Directions

  1. Mix cake mix, eggs, shortening, and water in a medium-sized bowl; mix with a spoon. Chill for 1 hour.

  2. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

  3. Shape dough into balls and roll in powdered sugar. Place on cookie sheets.

  4. Bake in the preheated oven until browned, 8 to 10 minutes.
