Kraft Just Launched Its Most Crowd-Pleasing Mac & Cheese Yet

If you’re a fan of video games and comfort food, you’re in luck. There’s a brand-new variety of Kraft Mac & Cheese, and the shapes contained within its blue box pay tribute to the iconic Super Mario franchise. Kraft Mac & Cheese Super Mario Power-Up Shapes join more than 30 other patents and more than 300 pasta shapes rolled out in the Kraft Mac & Cheese shapes lineup since its inception in 1994.

Kraft Mac & Cheese Super Mario Power-Up Shapes are rolling out now at most major grocery retailers, designed to look like the power-ups Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other Super Mario characters consume in the game to increase their abilities. Mario fans can nosh on Fire Flower, Super Star, and Super Mushroom-shaped pasta shapes, covered in the cheesy sauce Kraft Mac & Cheese lovers count on for comfort. What’s more, the Super Mario pasta will be available in both the standard Kraft blue box and Easy Mac varieties, making it simple to whip up a batch of the cheesy treat between beating levels.

Kraft hopes its newest Mac & Cheese shape is consumed in places other than in front of the TV. The brand recognizes that Super Mario still appeals to fans of all ages and can bridge any generation gap. Ashleigh Gibson, senior director for Kraft Mac & Cheese at the Kraft Heinz Company, said in a press release that the brand recognizes “it has become increasingly difficult for families to find time to enjoy meals together.” She hopes Kraft Mac & Cheese Super Mario Power-Up Shapes will change that and inspire some fun family dinners.

“We’ve always helped families reground, reset, and reconnect during mealtime,” Gibson said in a press release. “It’s important to us that we continue providing that reassuring comfort, which is why we’re excited to partner with Nintendo on the newest addition to our shapes portfolio. We look forward to bringing families back together at the table, bonding over two things we know they love – Kraft Mac and Cheese and Super Mario.”

The collaboration between Kraft and Super Mario comes just in time for the 30th anniversary of Kraft Mac & Cheese.
