Allrecipes' editorial guidelines Updated on October 26, 2023 Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and that can only mean one thing: it's pie season, baby! From pumpkin to pecan, apple, and everything in between, 'tis the season to stuff your pie hole with...well, pie. Whether you turn to your local superstore for the dessert or opt to make it for yourself, we're always looking for tips and tricks to take your pie from passable to pro-level. Lucky for us, Keebler, the brand behind nostalgic cookies and those adorable elves, has a brand new prepared pie crust coming to stores like you've never seen before. Get ready for sweet-and-salty pie paradise. Keebler Introduces Pretzel Pie Crusts Keebler "Swicy" (sweet and spicy) might be having a moment, but we're here to formally nominate "swalty," aka sweet and salty, as the flavor trend of the year (and really all time). From Fruckies to potato chip rice crispy treats, sweet and salty treats have dominated social media this year. Keebler and its assiduous elves are getting in on the swalty fun by expanding the line of ready-to-eat pie crusts to go where no store-bought crust has gone before: the salty side. In addition to Keebler's graham cracker, shortbread, chocolate, and Grasshopper (chocolate-mint) pie crusts, the brand is now offering a pretzel pie crust. The pretzel pie crust can be used for both baked and no-bake pies. We can already picture how incredible this would pair with a chocolate-peanut butter pie filling or an apple-caramel pie. We already love swapping soda crackers in for grahams to make citrus pies, so using the pretzel pie crust for lemon meringue or key lime pie feels like a no-brainer. It also could work perfectly to make a portable pie version of our beloved strawberry pretzel salad. But wait—that's not the only new product on the holiday docket for Keebler. Keebler Introduces Limited-Edition Gingerbread Fudge Stripes To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic holiday movie, "Elf," Keebler is introducing a limited-edition take to its iconic Fudge Stripes cookies. The tasty Gingerbread Fudge Stripes feature a gingerbread cookie base and white fudge dip and drizzle. And, of course, they come in four festive designs inspired by fan-favorite scenes from the film, as well as with special "Elf" packaging. Both the "Elf" Limited-Edition Keebler Gingerbread Fudge Stripes and Pretzel Pie Crusts can be found nationwide wherever Keebler products are sold, as well as online. These are just one of several "Elf"-themed goodies coming to grocery stores this winter. It's shaping up to be a holiday season where there's room for everyone on the nice list.
