Julie Laing Title: Writer Julie Laing has been a writer and editor for more than 25 years, much of that span as a freelancer. Since 2016, her writing has focused on original recipes, the tools used to make them, and the stories around them. Julie is the author of “The Complete Guide to Pickling” (Rockridge Press, 2020). She writes a weekly food column, named "Twice as Tasty" after her personal food blog, for the Flathead Beacon, in addition to contributing to other national websites and publications. An avid gardener, home canner, fermenter, and baker, Julie focuses on products and gadgets that help when growing, preserving, and cooking from scratch at home.
