Hummus without Tahini

We love hummus but tahini is expensive so I created this yummy hummus recipe without tahini — it's just as delicious!

Ingredients

Original recipe (1X) yields 8 servings

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans chickpeas, drained and liquid reserved

  • 6 tablespoons olive oil

  • 5 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander

  • teaspoon ground cumin

  • teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

  1. Combine chickpeas, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, salt, coriander, cumin, and cayenne in a food processor. Add 4 tablespoons reserved bean liquid and process until hummus is smooth.

Cook’s Note

You can use 2 tablespoons more bean liquid in place of 2 tablespoons olive oil if desired.
