It adds an unexpected crunch.

We love learning what celebrities like to eat. When Kelly Clarkson admits to loving the Patti LaBelle's pies, our ears perk up. Kelly Rippa shares a photo of her In-N-Out meal, and we want to know what’s in it. And when the football-dominating Kelce brothers reveal their top five cereals, we’re curious to see how they stack up to our own favorites.

It turns out we're not the only ones. “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert is also curious about what his celeb guests like to eat. His famous Colbert Questionairet (yes, he puts the “t” at the end of Questionairet to mimic the unpronounced “t” at the end of his last name) for celebrities that sit on the other side of his desk always starts with the same question: “What is the best sandwich?”

We may be partial to Ryan Gosling’s recent unexpected answer to the question, but it’s always fun to see what other celebrities say, including fellow "The Fall Guy" actor Emily Blunt.

Emily Blunt's Favorite Sandwich

We’d love to be a guest at one of Blunt’s extended family dinners. Her sister Felicity is married to Stanley Tucci, everyone’s favorite actor-turned-cooking-star. And Blunt herself has a roasted potato recipe that Ina Garten has called "amazing." We imagine the meals that Blunt and husband, actor John Krasinski, share with the Tuccis are pretty spectacular.

But when Blunt isn’t dining with her family, and has a craving for a sandwich, which one does she get? One of the all-time greats: a Cuban sandwich, also known as a Cubano.

She describes the sandwich as “pork, ham, pickles, mayo, something spicy in it,” and adds that she likes to put her own surprising twist by adding potato chips.  She then recalls that there's one more important ingredient to the sandwich—cheese (traditionally, Swiss cheese).

“Probably it’s late at night when you have it,” Colbert says.

“Oh, so late,” Blunt responds.

We can now add a Cuban sandwich to our growing list of celeb-approved sandwiches. That list also includes her brother-in-law’s Dessert Island Sandwich (a grilled cheese made with prosciutto, mozzarella, pesto, and basil) and Channing Tatum’s peanut butter and jelly stuffed with Cheetos. Looks like Emily isn’t the only one who likes to put something crunchy in her sandwich.
