I followed the instructions exactly but accidentally forgot the sugar. I tossed in 2 small cans of mandarin oranges instead and was very pleased with the results. Love happy accidents! Helpful (2) Crystal's Chicken and Stuffing Casserole 07/17/2013 This was very good. My mom made something very similar. I added some frozen peas and sautéed onions as well as garlic over the chicken before the stuffing and wet layer. Also didn't have evaporated milk so just used whole milk and it was fine. Was easy and definitely a crowd pleaser. I used a 4 lb boston butt instead and marinated overnight with a rub and rootbeer with chopped garlic and sweet onion. Pulled directly from fridge to slowcooker and cooked on low for 8 hours. The meat was so tender and there actually ended up being less waste than I thought using the butt. I threw the shredded pork back in the pot and mixed in Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. The thing that threw me off a little was tasting the pork without the sauce...the rootbear gave it an off taste that didn't quite do it for me. The bbq sauce helped tremendously but I couldn't get the underlying taste out of my tastebuds to enjoy it the way I wanted to. My family, however, devoured it and thought it was great. Next time I might try coke or Dr. Pepper and maybe even just beef broth instead of the root beer. I'm not a huge fan of root beer anyway so maybe that came through on this one. UPDATE: I have made this several times since writing the review and I do not marinate overnight. I just throw everything in first thing in the morning. Cut up a big onion, salt and pepper the boston butt (have done up to 5 1/2 lbs) and cover with half regular coke and half beef broth. Amazing this way! Helpful (0) Best Taco Casserole 12/13/2009 Very good and easy to make. I made this tostito chips on the bottom, just a think layer. I used lean ground turkey instead of beef and added some taco and chili seasoning (had a little of each left over). I used one medium jar of newman's own salsa, pinto beans, lowfat sour cream and lowfat cheese. I didn't have any green onion so skipped that, but did add some onion in the meat. I also crushed a few more chips and added to the top just under the cheese layer. It was very tasty - my boyfriend and I went back for thirds! Helpful (0) Cha Cha's White Chicken Chili 07/31/2007 This chili is a staple in our house. My husband and I buy a rotisserie chicken once a week and I use the left over chicken for this recipe. I substitue cilantro for the oregano and puree one can of the beans. I also only add about 1 tbs each of the chili and jalapeno (and freeze the rest). I just add the cheese as a garnish to lower the calorie/fat content a bit. Helpful (2) recipe collections 2 All Saved Recipes 106 Recipes Potluck Dishes 10 Recipes
