Helpful (0) Pasta with Spinach and Chickpeas 04/15/2017 I changed this a little by adding a bit of V8 juice (it's what I had on hand-it could have been extra tomatoes, tomato juice etc) plus some white wine for extra liquid and flavour. My 3 fresh tomatoes were a bit too small. Towards the end I also added some of the pasta cooking water. I cooked this a bit longer than stated in the recipe. I also added the red chilli flakes early on, lots of black pepper, a few shakes of dried onion, Italian herbs, and Chef's Shake. I mashed up some of the chickpeas to make it more of a sauce, then I served it with toasted bread crumbs (be careful, they burn easily!) and shredded parmesan on top. I made farfalle pasta instead of linguine or spaghetti. Everyone loved it! Fast and easy & tasty. The extra spices and wine elevated this from a 3 to a 4. Helpful (1) Potato Curry 12/03/2014 I usually don't rate if I don't follow the recipe correctly but this spice base was so good I just have to. I only had 1 potato so I added 1 onion, a can of chickpeas and some frozen peas & other veg mixture. I did add a tiny bit of Penseys sweet curry and a sprinkle of dried cilantro (coriander leaves) as I had no fresh for garnish. I added some chicken bouillon to the water. This is really tasty! Thanks, next time I will use this and make sure I have more potatoes! Helpful (1) Pumpkin Apple Muffins 11/17/2014 This is delicious and moist, nice texture and I even forgot the spices! I still give it 4 stars. I ate mine with a bit of soft cheese to make up for the lack of spice. I am sure I will like it even more next time when I remember to put them in, ha ha, because this healthy recipe is worth making again. The chopped walnuts really make it, I would even increase the amount a bit! Helpful (3) Baked Fresh Rainbow Trout 10/17/2014 I posted this recipe and was sorry to read someone shattered their pyrex dish adding water! I know what this is like as my hubby did the same once with a totally different dish. I had no problem because I added Hot water, which maybe I should have mentioned, but for safety reasons if you prefer a metal pan that's a good idea. Glad people are enjoying this. Helpful (12) Diane's Colcannon 03/17/2014 I made half the recipe for 4 servings and the family loved it. This was our first time eating Colcannon. Even my mashed potato-purist daughter liked it. I fried the cabbage enough to caramelize some pieces, & even sprinkled a tiny bit of brown sugar on top before covering the pan. I will definitely make this again.
