I made the meatballs in the air fryer. If you never cooked with ground turkey before one of the tricks is not to over mix. They will stay moister that way. Since I didn't have any sour cream I used butter milk in the sauce. I will definitely be making this again. July 2024 I'm not sure about the 1,000 island dressing on it ...lol Helpful (0) Matkatma reviewed FoodieGeek’s Grilled Hawaiian Chicken and Pineapple Sandwiches Recipe. July 2024 OK with tweaks Replace the 1000 island dressing with teriyaki glaze and you have a good sandwich! Great flavors Easy to follow Family favorite Easy peasy, did not make patties, no eggs, added onions, garlic to pan first with sun dried tomato’s (Julianne cut) added the turkey mix & chopped as it cooked. I think the patties may have worked if I chilled them first. I lined pita pockets on the sides with tomatoes & cucumbers then loaded mix into the center, tzatziki sauce & a sprinkle of dill & we entered the world of YUM! Next day it was called Turkey Tzatziki Bowls with two quarters of a pita lining the bowel with tomatoes & sliced cucumbers. A wonderful recipe added to our weekly Summah menus!!! Thank you for sharing!! Helpful (1) Lori Phelps Gechter reviewed FoodieGeek’s Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers Recipe. June 2024 I am interested in making this. What is the bread? Used all spices as noted BUT used Better than Bouillon TURKEY and added a bit more sour cream. Served with pasta on hand and fresh streamed green beans. Hubby is taking for lunch tomorrow....A KEEPER! I was tempted to lick my plate clean, but I worried that my boyfriend may not find that very attractive :) I did make a few changes...my chops were very thick, so I browned them and removed from the pan. I then added the remaining ingredients(I omitted the pecans and quadrupled the sauce, stirred those together for a few, then added the chops back to the pan, making sure to cover w/ the apples/sauce. I simmered this covered for about 15 minutes, then removed the chops and apples. I thickened the sauce with 1/2T cornstarch mixed with a little water. These are rather sweet so I recommend serving with savory sides to balance things out. I served mine with Stove Top and brussels sprouts. Helpful (4) Fried Green Tomato Sandwich 03/27/2011 I've made this many times...if green tomatoes aren't in season, fried zucchini slices work great too! Helpful (7) Easy Morning Glory Muffins 02/02/2011 These are absolutely delicious. I did make a few changes based on other reviews and personal preference. I reduced the sugar to 1c., and used 1/2 white and 1/2 brown. I replaced 3/4 c. of the oil (I used canola) with pumpkin puree, and 1/2 of the cinnamon for pumpkin pie spice. I subbed cherry flavored Craisins for the raisins, because I just don't do raisins. I omitted the coconut, which probably would have been fabulous in these, but I'm trying to eat as little saturated fat as possible. With these changes, I don't feel so guilty for having already eaten 3 of these, they are that good! Helpful (9) Sweet Potato Burritos 01/18/2011 These were different but good. I really didn't see a reason to add water, so I didn't. I halved the soy sauce to cut down on sodium. Also, I just mixed the bean mixture w/ the sweet potatoes before filling. Also, I just cut a block of mozzarella into sticks instead of using string cheese. One thing I discovered...if you make more than one batch, it's very important to give the oil a minute or two between batches to come back up to temperature. The cheese was oozing out before they browned on the 2nd batch, but the 1st and 3rd were perfect. Thanks for the recipe.
