If You Have This Dollar General Product, You Should Destroy It Immediately, Company Says

As the final days of summer tick by, we don't blame you if you're trying to squeeze in as much outdoor lounging time as possible. But if you're relaxing in a lounger you bought from Dollar General, you might want to heed a new recall: The Goodlettsville, Tenn.-based variety stores are recalling 155,000 loungers for serious risk of injury.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of 155,000 True Living Sling Loungers on August 4. The loungers, which were manufactured by Shanghai, China-based Shanghai Worth Garden Products Co. Ltd., "can collapse unexpectedly, posing an amputation, laceration, and pinching hazard" if your fingers get caught in the metal chair's folding joints.

So far, there have been three reports of the Sling Loungers collapsing, resulting in amputations or lacerations.

The chairs were sold between January 2019 and September 2019 in Dollar General stores. The chair's white metal frames came with either a solid blue or green fabric. The chair's 12-digit UPC code is 4300001047344.

If you have one of these chairs, CPSC recommends you cut the fabric out of the frame so that the chair cannot be used. Then, return the chair to Dollar General for a refund.
