Stock up for summer.

The second warm weather strikes, you bet that I’m daydreaming about upcoming summer potlucks and long weekend barbecues. There’s no way to describe the serotonin boost of eating a hamburger with all the fixins while the sun’s out and you’re surrounded by friends and family.

Naturally, that means I’m constantly thinking about my next potluck contribution. Sometimes, I’ll make my mom’s five-ingredient pierogi lasagna casserole, but usually, I love a store-bought shortcut. Luckily for me, I’m a devout Aldi shopper, and its summer Finds are some of my favorites. From its grilling must-haves to its bakery desserts, my summertime cooking is fueled by Aldi. And while everyone else is telling you not to sleep on Aldi’s “aisle of shame,” I’ll advise you not to pass up the deli section.

Yes, I’m just as enamored of Aldi’s cheese selection as you are—and the heat-and-eat meals are the perfect dinner shortcut—but the place you’ll always find me lingering is right in front of Aldi’s dip section.

You know as well as I do that dips taste better in the summer. Maybe it’s because they’re uber portable, so you can take them to the pool and beach or even on a boat, but I love bringing some kind of dip to any summer gathering. On a normal day, I’d choose Aldi’s spicy Mexicali Dip or even the Lobster Roll Dip, but this week, my potluck secret weapon is back on shelves: the Park Street Deli Layer Dip.

I know what you’re thinking, “Seven-layer dip is not that hard to make.” And you’re correct, but do you know what’s even easier than making the dip? Stopping by Aldi on the way to the picnic and grabbing the pre-made dip and a bag of tortilla chips.

Aldi’s Layered Dip isn’t seven layers, but rather four with pinto beans, guacamole, salsa, and cheese. So really, you’re only missing the sour cream and veggie layers, but you still get all the same flavors.

Just like any good layer dip, Aldi’s pre-made version has distinct layers that, when combined, give you the perfect creamy, zesty, cheesy bite. This dip is always an instant crowdpleaser—and disappears very quickly at any get-together.

Alid’s Park Street Deli Layered Dip costs $3.49 and can be found in its dips and hummus refrigerated section. While Aldi currently has it listed as a limited-time Aldi Find for the week of May 8, typically, you can find this dip available for most of the summer. If you’re lucky, it’ll be around for all the barbecues you’re planning—because, let's be honest, we could all use a store-bought break on those busy days.
