Wild Strawberries (1957) Analysis | Ingmar Bergman
Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (Smultronstället) is about staring a treacherous Past in the face, to find closure in the face of Death. This paves the way for Deja Vus and Flashbacks done in several different ways, manipulating time and space to give poetic grandeur.

Why I Love Wild Strawberries / Alpine Strawberries
Wild strawberries / Alpine strawberries are amazing - they grow anywhere, they taste great and they produce fruit way longer than cultivated varieties.
Next season I will be planting them everywhere I currently have cultivated types of strawberries.
If you can't find any in the wild or don't want to dig up any from the wild people sell the plants online: https://ebay.us/Fjovzv
.......and you can plant them any time of the year.
Also known as Alpine Strawberry and Woodland Strawberry.

THIS IS NOT WILD STRAWBERRY!!!
Just a quick heads up that this is not wild strawberry! I see many people mistake this plant for wild strawberry though it is not even related. Though this plant is edible, it is flavorless and does not lend itself well to recipes using wild strawberry. This is known ans snake berry, mock strawberry, or Indian strawberry. It gets the last common name because it comes from Asia though it is naturalized in many portions of the globe. The fruit is rather flavorless, but 100% safe to eat and it is a good source of water as the fruits are rather juicy.
I thank all of you guys for watching this video and I hope you enjoyed it. If you want to learn more about wild edibles or medicinal plants make sure to subscribe!

The two species of wild strawberry native to eastern North America, the Virginia strawberry, Fragaria virginiana, and the woodland strawberry. Fragaria vesca, are great as a groundcover or in the pollinator garden. Of course they have the bonus of producing tasty strawberries! Pollinators such as native bees and butterflies are drawn to the blooms and the leaves serve as host for a multitude of caterpillar species. Of course the berries are eaten by all sorts of critters and birds. There is an introduced imposter, the mock strawberry, Potentilla indica, that looks a lot like a strawberry, but that is about all it has in common with them. Learn about our native strawberries and how to tell them apart from the mock strawberry, and how our third native species of strawberry, the beach strawberry, Fragaria chiloensis, which is found on the west coast, along with the Virginia strawberry, played a part in producing the garden strawberries we know and love.

Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (Smultronstället) is about staring a treacherous Past in the face, to find closure in the face of Death. This paves the way for Deja Vus and Flashbacks done in several different ways, manipulating time and space to give poetic grandeur.
