First World
The concept of the First World originated during the Cold War and included countries that were generally aligned with or on friendly terms with the United States (including all NATO countries) and were generally identified as non-theocratic democracies with primarily market-based economies. While there is no current consensus on an exact definition of the term, in modern usage, "First World country" generally implies a relatively wealthy, stable and functional non-theocratic democracy with a reasonably well educated population, or just any developed country.
During the Cold War, relationships between the First World and the Second World of Communist states were typically competitive, ideological, and occasionally hostile. Relationships of both these "Worlds" with "Third World" countries (i.e. all the rest) were normally positive in theory, while some were quite negative in practice (such as proxy war between client states). Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and advances in communication technology, relations amongst the "Worlds" are not as rigid, although there are still marked disparities, with the First World generally having more influence, wealth, and access to information and technological innovations than the Second and Third Worlds.

World War I
World War I (WWI or WW1), also known as the First World War, or the Great War, was a global war centred in Europe that began on 28 July 1914 and lasted until 11 November 1918. More than 70 million military personnel, including 60 million Europeans, were mobilised in one of the largest wars in history. Over 9 million combatants and 7 million civilians died as a result of the war (including the victims of a number of genocides), a casualty rate exacerbated by the belligerents' technological and industrial sophistication, and the tactical stalemate caused by trench warfare, a grueling form of warfare in which the defender held the advantage. It was one of the deadliest conflicts in history, and paved the way for major political changes, including revolutions in many of the nations involved.
The war drew in all the world's economic great powers, assembled in two opposing alliances: the Allies (based on the Triple Entente of the United Kingdom/British Empire, France and the Russian Empire) versus the Central Powers of Germany and Austria-Hungary. Although Italy was a member of the Triple Alliance alongside Germany and Austria-Hungary, it did not join the Central Powers, as Austria-Hungary had taken the offensive, against the terms of the alliance. These alliances were reorganised and expanded as more nations entered the war: Italy, Japan and the United States joined the Allies, while the Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria joined the Central Powers.

Break Out! (Tohoshinki song)
"Break Out!" is a Japanese-language song by Tohoshinki. It was the group's 29th Japanese single, released in Japan on January 27, 2010 by Avex Group's sublabel Rhythm Zone. It was later included in their first Japanese compilation album, Best Selection 2010. It was used as the drama Tomehane! Suzuri Kōkō Shodōbu 's theme song. The single debuted on top of the Oricon daily chart with 169,842 copies sold. Altogether it sold 255,917 copies, topping the monthly chart as well, first time in the band's history. It also broke the previous record for a single of most copies sold in the first week of release held by Elton John.

Crisis (M*A*S*H)
Crisis was the 45th episode of M*A*S*H, and the 21st episode of the second series. It was first transmitted on February 9, 1974.
Overview
When the supply lines are cut, Henry Blake declares a state of emergency and delegates various tasks to the officers in an effort to keep the camp running. As heating fuel and toilet paper run low, the members of the 4077th are forced to operate in the cold, scrounge every bit of spare paper in the camp and double up in sleeping quarters.
The surgeons, along with Radar, Klinger and Father Mulcahy, spend restless nights cramped together. Meanwhile, Henry's desk begins to disappear by degrees as people become desperate for firewood. Klinger attempts to bunk with the nurses, and Hawkeye and Trapper attack Frank in an effort to share the warmth from his electric socks. Through it all, the influx of wounded remains constant. Things seem to be at their breaking point when a supply truck finally arrives to restock the camp.
The episode ends with Henry sitting in his bare office, it having been stripped of every piece of furniture.

"World" is a song from the Bee Gees' fourth album Horizontal, released in 1967 in the United Kingdom. Though it was a big hit in Europe, Atco Records did not issue it as a single in the United States, having just issued a third single from Bee Gees' 1st, "Holiday".
Composition
The song's lyrics question the singer's purpose in life.
Recording
The song's first recording session was on 3 October 1967 along with "With the Sun in My Eyes" and "Words". The song's last recording session was on 28 October 1967. "World" was originally planned as having no orchestra, so all four tracks were filled with the band, including some mellotron or organ played by Robin. When it was decided to add an orchestra, the four tracks containing the band were mixed to one track and the orchestra was added to the other track. The stereo mix suffered since the second tape had to play as mono until the end when the orchestra comes in on one side. Barry adds: "'World' is one of those things we came up with in the studio, Everyone just having fun and saying, 'Let's just do something!' you know". Vince Melouney recalls: "I had this idea to play the melody right up in the top register of the guitar behind the chorus".

World (The Price of Love)
"World (The Price of Love)" is a 1993 single by New Order, taken from the album Republic. Simply listed as "World" on the album, the subtitle "The Price of Love" was added for the single release, as it is repeated during the chorus. A 7:34 dance remix of the track by Paul Oakenfold, called the "Perfecto mix", was included on many releases of the single and was used for an alternate edit of the video.
Video
The same music video was used for both the original version and an edit of the Perfecto remix of the song. Shot in Cannes with only 5 long steadicam shots, the video features the camera slowly journeying from a pier into an expensive hotel, lingering on the faces of passers-by. It features the band only fleetingly - Peter Hook sits at a table on the seafront, Bernard Sumner stands overlooking the sea, and Stephen Morris and Gillian Gilbert pose for a photograph outside the Carlton Hotel. This would be the last time the band would appear in a video until 2005's "Jetstream".

Although at first glance his words appear somewhat fatalistic the fact is that what would transpire over the following four years would so dramatically change the world that the consequences of which would not be fully resolved until the end of the century when all the key figures involved had long died including Grey. Even today the consequences of that summer are still being felt in some way and we all live in the shadow of the aptly named Great War. The First World War. Welcome to Wars of the World.

The film opens with footage of a young Winston Churchill standing with officers and then addressing a crowd about the dangers of global armament. Germany’s Kaiser Wilhelm II climbs into a carriage (01:15). King Edward VII inspects British troops (02:02). The film then shows footage of Morocco in 1905 (03:10), showing a town and men riding horses. Russian Tsar Nicholas II greets troops (03:39). The film again shows footage from Morocco, this time of Agadir (04:04)—people walk through the city’s streets. British Prime Minister David Lloyd George waves to people from a carriage. Serbia’s King Peter I sits in a tent (04:38). Austrian troops march to the border with Serbia. Footage shows Europeans producing large quantities of weapons and munitions (05:25). Kaiser Wilhelm II poses with officers (06:00). There is a series of shots of New York City newspapers to show how the breakout of war developed. German troops leave their horses in a forest near Belgium and take cover on the ground with rifles ready (07:13). Germany’s General Paul von Hindenburg stands with officers. Allied forces rally at Marne (07:45) and push back German troops. Footage shows machine guns firing and soldiers moving through trenches. Italian troops hike up a snowy slope (08:15). British warships sail across the ocean (08:37). An ocean liner (possibly the Lusitania) is shown with tug boats at its side. That is followed by footage of sinking ships from German U-boat attacks. Woodrow Wilson sits in an office (09:15) just before the U.S. enters the war. Russian people crowd the streets during the Bolshevik Revolution (09:53). Vladimir Lenin is shown speaking to a crowd. German troops run out of the trenches and attack Allied forces at Marne (10:56). General John J. Pershing walks past Allied soldiers (11:08). Supreme Allied Commander Ferdinand Jean Marie Foch walks with troops and then is shown speaking. An allied tank moves into a field (11:33). The film then shows footage in a German city where people are rebelling against the Kaiser (12:06). People celebrate the end of the war in Paris with the Arc de Triomphe in the background. President Wilson boards the S.S. George Washington to sail for France (12:33). Footage shows the coaches of various statesmen as they arrive at the Palace of Versailles for the peace conference (12:55). Lloyd George, Wilson, French PM Georges Clemenceau, and Italian PM Vittorio Orlando walk out of the palace (13:30). The film then uses a map to show the political changes of Europe’s geography following the divvying up of German possessions. President Wilson returns to the U.S. and rides in a car during a parade (16:16). Turkish soldiers ride on horses (18:50), and some soldiers are shown walking off a ship. The film concludes with footage of Joseph Stalin, Benito Mussolini, and Adolf Hitler.

First World
The concept of the First World originated during the Cold War and included countries that were generally aligned with or on friendly terms with the United States (including all NATO countries) and were generally identified as non-theocratic democracies with primarily market-based economies. While there is no current consensus on an exact definition of the term, in modern usage, "First World country" generally implies a relatively wealthy, stable and functional non-theocratic democracy with a reasonably well educated population, or just any developed country.
During the Cold War, relationships between the First World and the Second World of Communist states were typically competitive, ideological, and occasionally hostile. Relationships of both these "Worlds" with "Third World" countries (i.e. all the rest) were normally positive in theory, while some were quite negative in practice (such as proxy war between client states). Since the dissolution of the Soviet Union and advances in communication technology, relations amongst the "Worlds" are not as rigid, although there are still marked disparities, with the First World generally having more influence, wealth, and access to information and technological innovations than the Second and Third Worlds.

Crash Course doesn't usually talk much about dates, but the way that things unfolded in July and August of 1914 is kind of important to understanding the Great War. You'll learn about Franz Ferdinand, Gavrilo Princip, the Black Hand, and why the Serbian nationalists wanted to kill the poor Archduke. You'll also learn who mobilized first and who exactly started the war. Sort of. Actually, there's no good answer to who started the war, but we give it a shot anyway.
