Title: Where The Rainbow Ends (Italian version)

Format: 7”
Label: CDG Records N9744
Year: 1969
Composer: Roger Cook, Roger Greenaway
Lyric (Italian): A. Testa
Orchestra arranger: Alberto Baldan
Publisher: Mills Music
Footnote:
Originally composed by Roger Cook way back in 1962 known as “Parisien”. His first penned release for Frank Weir and his Orchestra. The song was also used on a French version TV show of a Maigret spin off known as “When The Bough Breaks”. The song was re-worked in 1967 with his song partner Roger Greenaway and re-titled to "Where The Rainbow Ends" whilst assigned to Mills Music in London’s Denmark Street whilst known as David And Jonathan, under the wings of George Martin. This version by Betty Curtis was released under the title “Lungo La Senna (Seine)“ with the Alberto Baldan Orchestra, on CDG Records in 1969. The first vocal version of the song was recorded 2 years prior by Bing Crosby. He liked the song so much he recorded 3 different versions and also performed it on his show at the Hollywood Palace on 20th April 1968. The song has been recorded by dozens of artists including, Roger Whittaker, Tony Hiller Orch, Les Reed Orch, Frank Chacksfield, Lenny Dee, The Casuals, Tommy Whistler, and also various European releases.
Something different for a change instead of hearing the same hits over and over again, I have dug out 3 thousand related songs to Roger Cook and Roger Greenaway. All are NON HITS!
I will be playing one song a day. It looks like I'll be finished in around 9 years time! All songs are somehow related to Cook & Greenaway. Written, Produced, Performed, Back vocal, Record label, Publishing. ENJOY!
