Shorts (also known as Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock, Shorts: A Not So Tall Tale only on the trailer and released internationally as The Wishing Rock) is a 2009 American sci-fifantasyadventurelm which incorporates both live action and CGI animation. The film was written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, co-produced by Imagenation Abu Dhabi, Lin Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, Media Rights Capital and Troublemaker Studios with music by Rodriguez, George Oldziey and Carl Thiel and produced by Rodriguez and Elizabeth AvellΓ‘n for Media Rights Capital.
Shorts: The Adventures of the Wishing Rock was theatrically released in the United States on August 21, 2009 by Warner Bros. Pictures. The film earned $29 million on a $20 million budget. It also received a Young Artist Award nomination for Best Performance in a Feature Film.
The Short 330 (also SD3-30) is a small transport aircraft produced by Short Brothers. It seats up to 30 people and was relatively inexpensive and had low maintenance costs at the time of its introduction in 1976. The 330 was based on the SC.7 Skyvan.
Development
The Short 330 was developed by Short Brothers of Belfast from Short's earlier Short Skyvan STOL utility transport. The 330 had a longer wingspan and fuselage than the Skyvan, while retaining the Skyvan's square-shaped fuselage cross section, allowing it to carry up to 30 passengers while retaining good short field characteristics. The first prototype of the 330 flew on 22 August 1974.
The Short 330 is unusual in having all of its fuel contained in tanks located directly above the ceiling of the passenger cabin. There are two separate cockpit doors for pilot and co-pilot for access from inside the cabin.
While Short concentrated on producing airliners, the design also spawned two freight versions. The first of these, the Short 330-UTT (standing for Utility Tactical Transport), was a military transport version fitted with a strengthened cabin floor and paratroop doors, which was sold in small numbers, primarily to Thailand, which purchased four. The Short Sherpa was a freighter fitted with a full-width rear cargo door/ramp. This version first flew on 23 December 1982, with the first order, for 18 aircraft, being placed by the United States Air Force (USAF) in March 1983, for the European Distribution System Aircraft (EDSA) role, to fly spare parts between USAF bases within Europe.
Ballet/ΛbΓ¦leΙͺ/ (French:Β [balΙ]) is a type of performance dance that originated in the Italian Renaissance courts of the 15th century and later developed into a concert dance form in France and Russia. It has since become a widespread, highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary based on French terminology. It has been globally influential and has defined the foundational techniques used in many other dance genres. Becoming a ballet dancer requires years of training. Ballet has been taught in various schools around the world, which have historically incorporated their own cultures to evolve the art.
Ballet may also refer to a ballet dance work, which consists of the choreography and music for a ballet production. A well-known example of this is The Nutcracker, a two-act ballet that was originally choreographed by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov with a music score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Ballets are choreographed and performed by trained artists. Many classical ballets are performed with classical music accompaniment and use elaborate costumes and staging, though there are exceptions to this. Most notably, American choreographer George Balanchine is known for his plotless neoclassical ballets which are often performed in simple leotards and tights without scenery.
Hurt is a Canadian documentary film, directed by Alan Zweig and released in 2015.
The film explores the troubled life of Steve Fonyo, the Canadian amputee athlete who completed a cross-Canada run to raise funds for cancer research in 1984 and 1985.
The film was produced by MDF Productions.
The film won the Platform Prize at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. In December, the film was announced as part of TIFF's annual Canada's Top Ten screening series of the ten best Canadian films of the year.
"Hurt" is a song by American recording artist Christina Aguilera. It was written by Aguilera, Linda Perry and Mark Ronson, and produced by Perry for Aguilera's fifth studio album, Back to Basics (2006). "Hurt" was released as the album's second single on September 19, 2006 by RCA Records instead of "Candyman", which was planned to be the second one. The song's lyrical content came after Aguilera's desire to record a song about losing someone and describes how one deals with the loss of a loved one. Perry developed the first draft of the song while Aguilera rewrote some of the lyrics, and the final version is a tribute to the pair's symbiotic teamwork. Its instrumentation comes from bass, cello, contrabass, drums, guitar, piano, viola and violin.
"Hurt" received positive reviews from music critics, who praised Aguilera's vocals and the song's production. Commercially, the song attained moderate success in the United States, peaking at number 19 on the Billboard Hot 100; it was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), having sold more than 1.1 million copies in the United States alone, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The song was a top-ten hit worldwide, reaching the top ten in Austria, Belgium and France, and received a certification in regions including Australia, Canada and Switzerland.
Ballerina also known as The Copenhagen Ballet is the story of a young girl Mette Sorensen (played by Mette HΓΈnningen) who aspires to be a dancer with the Royal Danish Ballet, against the wishes of her mother but with the support of her musician father and her mentor, the famous ballerina Kirsten Holm (played by Kirsten Simone).
The story opens with Mette greeting Kirsten at the airport following the latter's return from a successful dance tour. They ride into the city together where Kirsten notices that Mette is slightly down-hearted about her own progress at ballet school. She soon gathers from the Ballet Master, and Madame Karova, Mette's teacher, that all is not well and Mette is not showing the promise she had originally displayed. The audience then learns that Mette's mother is against her pursuing a career as a ballerina, wanting her instead to settle down with her boyfriend Sven.
With Kirsten's backing, Mette secures a place at the Royal Danish ballet ('the company') and takes a small, solo part in Swan Lake, in which she excels. Kirsten is then asked to go to London at short notice, leaving the Ballet Master without a female lead soloist for Coppelia. Kirsten recommends Mette for the part. The remaining part of the film follows Mette's rehearsals and the various ups and downs on the path towards the finale of Coppelia and her arrival as the company's newest star. A young Jenny Agutter also stars as a pupil at the ballet school who turns to Mette for guidance and mentorship.

Swan Lake was Tchaikovskyβs first score for ballet. Given its status today as arguably the best loved and most admired of all classical ballets, it is perhaps surprising that at its premiere in 1877 Swan Lake was poorly received. It is thanks to the 1895 production by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov that Swan Lake has become part of not only ballet consciousness but also wider popular culture. Swan Lake has had a special role in the repertory of The Royal Ballet since 1934. Since then there has been a succession of productions, the most recent of which was a new production with additional choreography by Artist in Residence Liam Scarlett. Scarlett, while remaining faithful to the Petipa-Ivanov text, brought fresh eyes to the staging of this classic ballet, in collaboration with his long-term designer John Macfarlane.

Loosely based on the story by E.T.A. Wrightβs choreography ingeniously incorporates surviving fragments of the balletβs original material, including the sublime pas de deux for the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Prince. But in emphasizing the relationship between Clara and the Nutcracker Prince, the production also gains a touching subtext of first love.
