John Leslie "Wes" Montgomery (March 6, 1923 – June 15, 1968) was an American jazz guitarist. He is widely considered one of the major jazz guitarists, emerging after such seminal figures as Django Reinhardt and Charlie Christian and influencing countless others, including George Benson, Kenny Burrell, Bobby Broom, Royce Campbell, Grant Green, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Howe, Russell Malone, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Lee Ritenour, Mark Whitfield, Joe Diorio, Tuck Andress, David Becker, Randy Napoleon, Larry Coryell and Emily Remler.
Montgomery was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. According to NPR Jazz Profiles "The Life and Music Of Wes Montgomery", the nickname "Wes" was a child's abbreviation of his middle name, Leslie. He came from a musical family; his brothers, Monk (double bass and electric bass) and Buddy (vibraphone and piano), were jazz performers. The brothers released a number of albums together as the Montgomery Brothers. Although he was not skilled at reading music, he could learn complex melodies and riffs by ear. Montgomery started learning the six-string guitar at the relatively late age of 20 by listening to and learning the recordings of his idol, guitarist Charlie Christian; however, he had played a four string tenor guitar since age twelve. He was known for his ability to play Christian's solos note for note and was hired by Lionel Hampton for this ability.
Dynamic duo may refer to:
Jimmy & Wes: The Dynamic Duo is the third collaboration album by American jazz guitarist Wes Montgomery and electric organist Jimmy Smith, released in 1966.
Richard S. Ginell reviewed the album for AllMusic and was highly favorable in his comments, writing "... the results are incendiary—a near-ideal meeting of yin and yang. Smith comes at your throat with his big attacks and blues runs while Montgomery responds with rounder, smoother octaves and single notes that still convey much heat. They are an amazing pair, complementing each other, driving each other, using their bop and blues taproots to fuse together a sound."
- Track 6 is a bonus track not included on the original LP
The Dynamic Duo was a professional wrestling tag team that wrestled in Smoky Mountain Wrestling from early to mid 1995. The team consisted of Al Snow and Unabomb. This was the fifth version of the Dynamic Duo, following the original team of Gino Hernandez and Tully Blanchard, followed by Hernandez and Chris Adams, Al Madril and Brian Adias, and Eric Sbraccia and Phil Apollo.
Al Snow and Unabomb both wrestled for Jim Cornette's Knoxville, Tennessee-based Smoky Mountain Wrestling in 1995 before they formed a tag team in SMW on the February 6, 1995 TV taping of SMW, which was dubbed The Dynamic Duo. They defeated Anthony Michaels and The Wolfman. The same night, they earned a shot at the SMW Tag Team Champions Rock N' Roll Express (Robert Gibson and Ricky Morton). The champions retained their titles after getting disqualified and this started a feud between Dynamic Duo and Rock N' Roll Express.
Al Snow and Unabomb received several shots at Gibson and Morton for the titles but usually got pinned or disqualified. Finally, Al Snow and Unabomb defeated Rock N' Roll Express for the SMW Tag Team Championship in a "coal miner's glove match". Al Snow and Unabomb had short-lived feuds with tag teams such as The Batten Twins (Bart & Brad), The Dirty White Boy and Tracy Smothers,Armstrong Brothers (Steve and Scott) and Robert Gibson & Boo Bradley.

Dynamic Duo is a 1977 vocal duet album by country music artists Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty. This became the duo's seventh studio album, as they were now becoming one of the most popular country duet vocal teams of the 1970s. It was recorded at Bradley's Barn, Mt. Juliet, Tennessee.
Batman and Robin refers to the partnership between Batman and Robin, two superhero characters originally appearing in DC Comics. The partnership is also known as Dynamic Duo, a phrase introduced by Bill Finger in his scripts.
It is also the title of a number of fictional works starring the duo:
The Very Best of Wes Montgomery (Full Album) John Leslie "Wes" Montgomery (March 6, 1923 – June 15, 1968) was an American jazz guitarist.[1] Montgomery was known for an unusual technique of plucking the strings with the side of his thumb and his extensive use of octaves, which gave him a distinctive sound. Montgomery often worked with his brothers Buddy (Charles F.) and Monk (William H.) and with organist Melvin Rhyne. His recordings up to 1965 were oriented towards hard bop, soul jazz, and post bop, but around 1965 he began recording more pop-oriented instrumental albums that found mainstream success. His later guitar style influenced jazz fusion and smooth jazz
