Other than the current 40 slot exemptions, flights into and out of the airport are not allowed to exceed 1,250 statute miles (2,000km) in any direction nonstop, in an effort to send air traffic to the larger but more distant Washington Dulles International Airport. In the 12 months ending March 2015, the airport served 21,195,775 passengers.
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (formerly National Airport) is a Washington Metrostation in Arlington, Virginia on the Blue and Yellow Lines. The station platform is elevated and covered and is the last above ground station on the Yellow Line in Virginia, heading into Washington, D.C. It is one of only two stations in the system to have three tracks (the other being West Falls Church). The station is located across Smith Boulevard from the B and C terminals at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA); the airport shuttle bus carries people to and from Terminal A. The mezzanines are directly connected to the B and C terminals by pedestrian walkways to Level 2 (gate level). The airport's Abingdon Plantation historical site is near the station.

Washington National Airport - DCA - 4K Airport Tour
Thanks for joining me on this airport tour of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, now in 4K! Today's tour covers one of the three airports serving the country's capital, and it's the oldest, closest, and potentially most interesting of the three.
As a hub for American Eagle, DCA provides service to dozens of destinations around the country. Security regulations limiting the distance planes to and from DCA can travel, along with the frequent, shuttle-style service provided to the airport give it a unique destination profile.
I try to cover what I can in a short video, but I'm sure there are things I've missed; please leave a comment below if you have questions about the tour or navigating the airport, and I'll do my best to answer them! Or, share your own thoughts and experiences ...

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport serves the capital of the USA and due to its proximity to the city centre, it is the proffered airport to fly into when flying into Washington. The Airport is built into water but has some incredibly photogenic photography and videography locations around it, my favourite being the one you see in the thumbnail.
Of course, no DCA video is complete without the centreline action. This airport is widely known for its down the runway footage and I hope I have done the spot justice.
Or, share your own thoughts and experiences about DCA!
Finally, let me know where you'd like to see next! Now that I've been vaccinated, I'm able to travel with more confidence. Stay tuned for new flight and airport videos every two weeks!

I only spent a short amount of time at DCA and chose to focus more on Washington Dulles airport, but I do have one more DCA video in the works focusing entirely on centreline action!

The Ronald Reagan Airport Metro Station. It is a stop for the Yellow and Blue lines on the Washington, DC Metro. The station is in Arlington, Virginia and is connected to the airport. Shot in May 2014.
Ronald Reagan Washington national Airport station is a metro station on the blue and yellow lines for the DC Metro transit system. This station connects directly to the main terminal of the airport via an enclosed walkway so, you don't have to go outside.
