How to add Prefix and Suffix at a time in Excel?
Let’s get right into it. We are going to solve this problem using formula.
=CONCATENATE
In the situation demonstrated in the video we use this formula in a way that we simply write the text we want to add as Prefix and Suffix right into it. Here it goes:
=CONCATENATE ("Food - ", B2, " - Vegetables")
Here the word FOOD is prefix and the word Vegetables is the Suffix. Cell B2 is the cell with whom we want to add Prefix & Suffix. Plain and simple.
In the second method I used the same formula in different ways.
=CONCATENATE (A2,B2,C2)
Here in A2 cell we have Prefix and Cell B2 Is the word with whom we want to add suffix and prefix. C2 is the cell where we have the suffix.
These were the simplest way of adding both prefix and suffix in Microsoft excel using formula.

Suffix and prefix are linguistic terms used to describe affixes, which are added to the beginning (prefix) or the end (suffix) of a base word to create a new word with modified meaning. Here's a more detailed explanation:
Suffix:
A suffix is an affix that is added to the end of a base word to change its meaning or grammatical properties.
Suffixes are commonly used in languages to form plurals, verb tenses, adjectives, adverbs, and more.
For example, in English:
"Happiness" - The suffix "-ness" is added to "happy" to form the noun "happiness."
"Quickly" - The suffix "-ly" is added to "quick" to form the adverb "quickly."
"Walked" - The suffix "-ed" is added to "walk" to indicate past tense, resulting in "walked."
Prefix:
A prefix is an affix that is added to the beginning of a base word to alter its meaning or grammatical properties.
Prefixes are used in languages to indicate negation, direction, time, or other modifications.
For example, in English:
"Unhappy" - The prefix "un-" is added to "happy" to create the word "unhappy," indicating the opposite of happiness.
"Redo" - The prefix "re-" is added to "do" to suggest doing something again, resulting in "redo."
"Preview" - The prefix "pre-" is added to "view" to mean seeing something before, leading to "preview."
Suffixes and prefixes are important components of word formation in many languages and can significantly impact the meaning and usage of words. They allow for the expansion and modification of vocabulary by adding nuances and context to base words.
In Hindi, a "suffix" is called "प्रत्यय" (pratyay), and a "prefix" is called "उपसर्ग" (upsarg).
Suffix (प्रत्यय - pratyay):
A suffix is a group of letters added to the end of a word to change its meaning or function.
In Hindi, suffixes are used to modify nouns, verbs, adjectives, and other parts of speech.
Examples of Hindi suffixes include "-ता" (ta) for forming adjectives (e.g., सुंदरता - sundarta, meaning beauty) and "-कर" (kar) for forming verbs (e.g., बनाना - banana, meaning to make).
Prefix (उपसर्ग - upsarg):
A prefix is a group of letters added to the beginning of a word to change its meaning or function.
In Hindi, prefixes are less common than suffixes and are used to modify verbs, often indicating direction, intensity, or negation.
Examples of Hindi prefixes include "उत्तर-" (uttar-) for indicating the northern direction (e.g., उत्तराखंड - Uttarakhand) and "अ-" (a-) for negation (e.g., असफल - asafal, meaning unsuccessful).
Both suffixes and prefixes play important roles in the formation and modification of words in the Hindi language.
