Andrew Scheer campaigns in critical GTA riding Vaughan—Woodbridge
Conservative leader Andrew Scheer will attend a campaign stop in Woodbridge, Ont. on Sept. 11, which is expected to a highly contested riding within the Greater Toronto Area.
The riding voted Progressive Conservative in the last provincial election. The federal Liberals warn Scheer will proceed with cuts to spending similar to those made by PC Premier Doug Ford in Ontario.
Ford is among the wild cards in this election campaign; with Ontario a key battleground, federal Conservatives are running up against voters in that province frustrated with Ford and ready to take those feelings out at the federal level.

The Assembly is made up of 60 elected Assembly Members -- 40 are chosen to represent individual constituencies, and 20 are chosen to represent the five regions of Wales.
This means every single person in Wales is represented by five AMs in total -- one AM for their constituency (the local area in which they live), and another four AMs that cover their region. The five regions of Wales are: North Wales, Mid and West Wales, South Wales West, South Wales Central, and South Wales East.

Canada election: How this Ontario region's "vote switchers" could have influence on the results
Ontario's densely populated Peel Region, including the city of Brampton, is packed with people who aren't loyal to a particular political party.
They’re dubbed vote switchers, and they make the area a fertile ground in the federal election. Over the past several elections, some of these ridings have flipped from Liberal to Conservative or vice versa.
David Akin explains how they’ve voted in the past, and what that could mean for today’s federal parties.

Landslide victory for the Ontario PC party
After a sweeping victory at the polls last night re-elected premier Doug Ford took questions from the media today.

On this episode of The Open Mind, we're delighted to welcome two leading organizers in the movement to rebuild and preserve American democracy. Ethan Todras-Whitehill is the cofounder and executive director of Swing Left. Prior to the election of Trump, he was a writer, journalist, and teacher. After the 2016 election, he decided to step off the sidelines and become more politically active. He started Swing Left to make it easier for others to do the same. Last year, Swing Left successfully mobilized a grassroots army to take back the House.
Catherine Vaughan is the chief strategy officer of Swing Left. She was previously the CEO and cofounder of Flippable, an organization to support candidates running for state office. Flippable supported 80 percent of all flips accomplished in their target chambers in 2018 and directed 91 percent of funds toward races decided by less than 10 points. This year Swing Left recently unveiled it's Super State Strategy for 2020 designed to organize progressive victories across the White House, the US Senate and state houses by focusing on 11 so-called Super States, volunteers and donors can multiply their impact up and down the ballot. And I might add that now Flippable is a part of Swing Left. You guys are working together towards those collective goals.

Elections Ontario say just 43 per cent cast a ballot which is down from 57 per cent in 2018.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath was re-elected in Hamilton Centre but stepped down as the party leader in her emotional final speech last night. "It's time for me to pass the torch, pass the baton, and hand over the leadership of the NDP," Horwath said.
Liberal leader Steven Del Duca did not win his riding of Vaughan-Woodbridge and is also stepping down as party leader. Del Duca has asked the liberal party president to begin a leadership search.
