Tybalt is the main antagonist in William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. He is Lady Capulet's nephew, Juliet's short-tempered cousin, and Romeo's rival. Tybalt shares the same name as the character Tibert/Tybalt the "Prince of Cats" in Reynard the Fox, a point of mockery in the play. Mercutio repeatedly calls Tybalt "King of Cats" (perhaps referring not only to Reynard but to the Italian word cazzo "penis" as well). Luigi da Porto adapted the story as Giulietta e Romeo and included it in his Historia novellamente ritrovata di due Nobili Amanti published in 1530. Da Porto drew on Pyramus and Thisbe and Giovanni Boccaccio's Decameron. He gave it much of its modern form, including the lovers' names, the rival families of Montecchi and Capuleti, and the location in Verona. He also introduces characters corresponding to Shakespeare's Mercutio, Tybalt, and Paris. Da Porto presents his tale as historically true and claims it took place in the days of Bartolomeo II della Scala (a century earlier than Salernitano). Montague and Capulet were actual 13th-century political factions, but the only connection between them is a mention in Dante'sPurgatorio as an example of civil dissension.
Juliet is the second single from Modern Talking's eleventh album, Victory. Unlike other Modern Talking tracks released previously, the song has a disco flavour to it.
Dr. Juliet Burke (née Carlson) is a fictional character on the ABC television series Lost played by Elizabeth Mitchell. She is among the group of people referred to as the Others by the survivors of Flight 815 on the Island. She is a medical fertility specialist who is recruited to the Island by Richard Alpert to solve the fertility problems occurring. Being unable to leave, she suffers from several breakdowns, wishing to see her sister again. Being unsuccessful with curing the problem, she is sent as a mole to the survivors but quickly turned on Ben and the Others and becomes close to Jack and the survivors of the crash. After Jack and five others are rescued, she forms a relationship with James "Sawyer" Ford.
The anti-heroine of the third season, Mitchell describes Juliet as being the bridge between Benjamin Linus and the other characters, as well as a "little salt in the oyster of Jack and Kate." The character was conceived by the writers as the next possible love interest for Jack. Although, with the progression of the story, the direction of the character changed. Despite being described as making morally questionable mistakes, Juliet is a compassionate and intelligent individual who dedicates her time to helping others, but often feels conflicted over her own needs.
Juliet (/ˈdʒuːliət/JEW-lee-ət or /ˌdʒuːliˈɛt/JEW-lee-ET) is an inner satellite of Uranus. It was discovered from the images taken by Voyager 2 on 3 January 1986, and was given the temporary designation S/1986U2. It is named after the heroine of William Shakespeare's play Romeo and Juliet. It is also designated UranusXI.
Juliet belongs to Portia Group of satellites, which also includes Bianca, Cressida, Desdemona, Portia, Rosalind, Cupid, Belinda and Perdita. These satellites have similar orbits and photometric properties. Unfortunately, other than its orbit, radius of 53km and geometric albedo of 0.08 virtually nothing is known about Juliet.
At the Voyager 2 images Juliet appears as an elongated object, the major axis pointing towards Uranus. The ratio of axes of Juliet's prolate spheroid is 0.5 ± 0.3, which is rather an extreme value. Its surface is grey in color.
Juliet may collide with Desdemona within the next 100 million years.
The character's origins can be traced as far back as Pyramus, who appears in Ovid's Metamorphoses, but the first modern incarnation of Romeo is Mariotto in the 33rd of Masuccio Salernitano's Il Novellino (1476). This story was adapted by Luigi da Porto as Giulietta e Romeo (1530), and Shakespeare's main source was an English verse translation of this text by Arthur Brooke. Although both Salernitano and da Porto claimed that their stories had historical basis, there is little evidence that this is the case.
Romeo, an only child like Juliet, is one of the most important characters of the play, and has a consistent presence throughout it. His role as an idealistic lover has led the word "Romeo" to become a synonym for a passionate male lover in various languages. Although often treated as such, it is not clear that "Montague" is a surname in the modern sense.
The song is a moderately up-tempo number, with Stokkan addressing the object of his desires. He sings about his elaborate preparations to "seduce you" - going to the lengths of borrowing clothes to look better. Unfortunately for him, his advances appear to have been over-eager, as he sings "My greatest pleasure was to touch you/My biggest stupidity was to feel you up". His paramour compares him unfavourably to Romeo, telling him that "the Gods shall know that you will never become a/Romeo, Romeo, try to take it easy", even as he is begging on his knees for the relationship to work.
Despite the somewhat unconventional lyrics - Eurovision entries tending to be about requited love - the song is more significant for the appearance onstage of a drag queen, a member of the Norwegian drag troupe "Great Garlic Girls", dressed in stylised clothing reminiscent of the 18th century.
