Afterward, he developed his singing technique, signed with Columbia Records and had his first number-one popular song with "Because of You" in 1951. Several top hits such as "Rags to Riches" followed in the early 1950s. He then refined his approach to encompass jazz singing. He reached an artistic peak in the late 1950s with albums such as The Beat of My Heart and Basie Swings, Bennett Sings. In 1962, Bennett recorded his signature song, "I Left My Heart in San Francisco". His career and his personal life experienced an extended downturn during the height of the rock music era.

Tony Bennett (born August 22, 1984) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Windsor Express of the National Basketball League of Canada (NBL). He was part of an Express team that won the championship in 2014–15. Bennett was a Premier Basketball League All-Star in 2010 and an Independent Basketball Association All-Star in 2012. He played college basketball for the Bradley Braves and led them to a Sweet 16 appearance in the 2006 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Prior to that, Bennett attended George Westinghouse College Prep in Chicago, Illinois.
On May 8, 2015, Bennett was suspended indefinitely from the Windsor Express and the National Basketball League of Canada following a pre-game altercation in the 2015 NBL Canada Finals, after which the Halifax Rainmen forfeited Game 7. His team was awarded the championship, but his head coach Bill Jones received a one-year suspension and a $4,000 fine. Even more suspensions were faced by the Rainmen, including those of Kevin Young and Cliff Clinkscales.

Anthony John Stuart Bennett (commonly known as Tony Bennett, born 7 September 1947) is an English former political candidate and current campaigner. He was a member of the British political party Veritas and was listed on the database of the Electoral Commission as official leader for three days, before the real leader was revealed as Robert Kilroy-Silk.
In 2006, he began a private prosecution against Michael Barrymore for alleged drugs and drink offences committed on the night Stuart Lubbock was found dead at the entertainer's home. Bennett co-wrote a book with Terry Lubbock, the father of Stuart Lubbock, Not Awight: Getting Away With Murder, explaining their theory that Stuart Lubbock died as a result of a violent attack on him which Barrymore and his associates that night covered up. He has also campaigned against the parents of Madeleine McCann, who disappeared while on a family holiday in Portugal in 2007. He asserted that they should have been prosecuted for child neglect and accused them of covering up what happened to their daughter, a charge which ultimately led to the family successfully pursuing legal action against him.

"Autumn Leaves" is a much-recorded popular song. Originally it was a 1945 French song "Les feuilles mortes" (literally "The Dead Leaves") with music by Hungarian-French composer Joseph Kosma and lyrics by poet Jacques Prévert, and the Hungarian title is "Hulló levelek" (Falling Leaves). Yves Montand (with Irène Joachim) introduced "Les feuilles mortes" in 1946 in the film Les Portes de la nuit. Composer Joseph Kosma and Jacques Prevert created one of the songs for Les Portes De La Nuit by setting a Prevert poem to music, “Les Feuilles Mortes.” In 1949 Johnny Mercer wrote English lyrics for the tune changing the original French title to “Autumn Leaves.” Not surprisingly, Jo Stafford was the first to record “Autumn Leaves.” From 1943 until 1950 she was under contract with Capitol Records, a ...

There was a man
Looked up to Heaven
And he said, “Lord, what good am I?
I feel so unimportant that it makes me want to cry.
What should I do, Lord? Please answer me.”
The Lord said, “Sure son, I’ll tell you what to be:
The best thing to be is a person.
Just a person who loves is fellow man.
The best thing to be is a person.
Just a person who does the best he can.”
The Lord said, “You can be a big man,
And I can tell you where to start.
Just let the world around you
Know the love that’s in your heart.”
The Lord said softly, “Listen to me.
There’s only one thing that I want you to be.
The one thing to be is a person.
Just a person who does the best he can.”
