22 Bishopsgate is a commercial skyscraper planned for construction in London, United Kingdom. It will occupy a prominent site on Bishopsgate, in the City of London financial district, and will stand 278m (912ft) tall with 62 storeys. The project replaces an earlier plan for a 288m (945ft) tower named The Pinnacle, on which construction was started in 2008 but suspended in 2012 following the Great Recession, with only the concrete core of the first seven storeys built. The structure was later subjected to a re-design, out of which it became known by its postal address, 22 Bishopsgate.
Under the original plans, The Pinnacle was to become the second-tallest building in both the United Kingdom and the European Union after The Shard, also in London. The Economic Development Corporation of Saudi Arabia and its development manager, Arab Investments, were part-funding the construction in return for a majority stake in the structure. However, the build was put on hold due to a lack of additional funding and letting commitments.
The Pinnacle is a 240-acre (97ha) shopping center and commercial development located in Bristol, Tennessee. Established by Johnson Commercial Developers, its first stores opened in 2014. It is a mixed-use complex, with 1.3 million square feet (appx. 121,000 square meters) of retail, restaurant, hotel, and office space, as well as recreational areas.
The development was partially funded by the City of Bristol, which provided Johnson with a $25 million loan, and agreed to fund an $8 million road construction project through the complex. Johnson estimates that the first phase of the complex will create 1,200 jobs, and add $250 million in annual sales to the local economy. The first stores opened in 2014 and many have followed in 2015.
Pinnacle 12 by Marquee Cinemas opened in October 2015.
She has toured internationally with The Weeknd and was also nominated for the Sound of 2014 award by the BBC and an MTV Brand New Nominee in 2014. On May 3, 2014, Banks was dubbed as an "Artist to Watch" by FoxWeekly.
Early life
Jillian Rose Banks was born in Orange County, California. Banks started writing songs at the age of fifteen. She taught herself piano when she received a keyboard from a friend to help her through her parents' divorce. She says she "felt very alone and helpless. I didn't know how to express what I was feeling or who to talk to."
Career
2013–present: Breakthrough and Goddess
Banks used the audio distribution website SoundCloud to put out her music before securing a record deal. Her friend Lily Collins used her contacts to pass along her music to people in the industry; specifically Katy Perry's DJ Yung Skeeter, and she began working with the label Good Years Recordings. Her first official single, called "Before I Ever Met You" was released in February 2013. The song which had been on a private SoundCloud page ended up being played by BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe. Banks released her first EP Fall Over by IAMSOUND Records and Good Years Recordings.Billboard called her a "magnetic writer with songs to obsess over." Banks released her second EP called London by Harvest Records and Good Years Recordings in 2013 to positive reviews from music critics, receiving a 78 from Metacritic. Her song "Waiting Game" from the EP was featured in the 2013 Victoria's Secret holiday commercial.
London and the Thames were named in 1793 by Lord Simcoe, who proposed the site for the capital of Upper Canada. The first European settlement was between 1801 and 1804 by Peter Hagerman. The village was founded in 1826 and incorporated in 1855. Since then, London has grown to be the largest Southwestern Ontario municipality and Canada's 11th largest municipality, having annexed many of the smaller communities that surrounded it.
London is a regional centre of health care and education, being home to the University of Western Ontario, Fanshawe College, and several hospitals. The city hosts a number of musical and artistic exhibits and festivals, which contribute to its tourism industry, but its economic activity is centred on education, medical research, insurance, and information technology. London's university and hospitals are among its top ten employers. London lies at the junction of Highway 401 and 402, connecting it to Toronto, Windsor, and Sarnia. It also has an international airport, train and bus station.
Charles Dickens' works are especially associated with London which is the setting for many of his novels. These works do not just use London as a backdrop but are about the city and its character.
Dickens described London as a Magic lantern, a popular entertainment of the Victorian era, which projected images from slides. Of all Dickens' characters 'none played as important a role in his work as that of London itself', it fired his imagination and made him write. In a letter to John Forster, in 1846, Dickens wrote 'a day in London sets me up and starts me', but outside of the city, 'the toil and labour of writing, day after day, without that magic lantern is IMMENSE!!'
However, of the identifiable London locations that Dickens used in his work, scholar Clare Pettitt notes that many no longer exist, and, while 'you can track Dickens' London, and see where things were, but they aren't necessarily still there'.
In addition to his later novels and short stories, Dickens' descriptions of London, published in various newspapers in the 1830s, were released as a collected edition Sketches by Boz in 1836.

* At 288 metres, the Bishopsgate Tower will form the centrepiece of London's financial district. It will be over 100 metres taller than the City's current tallest building, Tower 42 (the former NatWest Tower), and one of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe.
* Plans for a tower on this site have been around since 2002. A previous design by Helmut Jahn was scrapped following concerns over the base and crown, and its effect on views from Fleet Street. The Bishopsgate Tower, London. A major new skyscraper planned for the centre of London's financial district.
http://www.petitiononline.com/ldntower/petition.html
At 75 floors, The Landmark Pinnacle is one of London’s tallest residential towers. The building stands four-square at the head of South Dock on the edge of Canary Wharf, with views that extend out across London’s unmistakable monuments and waterways.
Landmark Pinnacle stands on the western edge of Canary Wharf. Its pure glass-clad form is conceived to complement the surrounding modern skyline and reflect the light and movement of the water and sky.
There are, however, subtle distinctions in the design of this modern structure. From the outside, a series of clear divisions are made by a change in the glass, which harmoniously slices across the façade. These make each of Landmark Pinnacle’s grand amenity levels visible. The top of the building is crowned by two double-height roof terraces, whose dramatic glazing and night-time illumination accentuate the impressive width of these luxurious leisure spaces.
The amenities span a series of entire floor plates, providing a harmonious division between the apartment levels. The combination of exquisitely curated spaces and unparalleled views ensures that Landmark Pinnacle will proudly take its place among London’s leading residential buildings.

The revised design - by architects Kohn Pederson Fox - is more sleek and elegantly proportioned, and is intended to complement the neighbouring proposals such as the Leadenhall Building.
* A planning application was submitted in June 2005. A revised planning application with a 19m height reduction was submitted and given final approval in April 2006. In November 2006, the developers secured funding for the project from Arab Investments.
Current Status:
Early construction is underway. It is confirmed that the tower will be built speculatively. Brookfield have been signed up as subcontractors for the steel and cladding, and are expected to take over the site from July 2009. Completion of the tower is scheduled for 2011.
The Pinnacle (also known informally as the Helter-Skelter and formerly called the Bishopsgate Tower) is a 288 m (945 ft) skyscraper under construction in London's main financial district, the City of London.[1] Construction started on the site at 22-24 Bishopsgate in September 2008 but has been on hold since March 2012 with only the concrete core of the first seven of the 64 storeys built.
The Pinnacle was planned to become the tallest building in the City of London and the second-tallest in both the United Kingdom and the European Union, after the 310 m (1,020 ft) Shard.
