Poor Cinderella works hard day and night while her spiteful ugly sisters do nothing. But when she meets the Fairy Godmother, her life starts to change in all sorts of wonderful ways.
The lovely Debbie McGee makes her Anvil debut as the Fairy Godmother, starring alongside Chris Pizzey who returns by popular demand. We are delighted that Nic Gibney and Duncan Burt will play the Ugly Sisters (Best Ugly Sisters, UK Pantomime Award winners 2022).
With laugh-out-loud jokes, stunning scenery, wonderful costumes, and two beautiful Shetland ponies, join Cinders and make your dreams come true at The Anvil.

Mozart’s many wind serenades range from genial entertainments to serious masterpieces, and this C minor work is one of his very best.
The soulful and passionate concerto by Vasks which follows was inspired by childhood memories and stars twinkling in the night sky. “This haunting work strives constantly and touchingly towards ‘distant light’” (The Times).
The concert ends with Shostakovich’s fifteenth and final symphony, a mysterious work which the composer never explained. The orchestra is used sparingly yet effectively, while quotations from Rossini, Wagner, and Shostakovich’s own long-suppressed Fourth Symphony appear. The overall tone is refl...

Japanese drumming ensemble Kodo bring the spirit of the taiko to The Anvil for a performance that embodies sound, resonance, and physicality.
Kodo is the most recognized kumi-daiko (drumming troupe) in the world. They have composed soundtracks to major films, as well as having become the inspiration for many taiko (Japanese drum) players around the world. Based on Sado Island, Japan, they've played a significant role in popularising taiko drumming, both in Japan and abroad – forging new directions for a vibrant living art-form.
Come and experience the soul-stirring rhythm of life first hand.

After excerpts from Tan Dun’s celebrated and atmospheric Oscar-winning film score, two contrasting pieces for violin and orchestra from nineteenth-century France, the first slow and soulful, and the second sparkling and virtuosic.
The concert ends with two of Respighi’s spectacular Roman pieces for large orchestra – suites which give musical depictions of the sights, sounds, landmarks and history of Rome in a tour de force of orchestral colour and imagination.
