Tamara Jaber (born 13 August 1982) is an Australian recording artist who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a member of the pop group Scandal'us. Following the disbandment of Scandal'us in 2002, Jaber signed to her then-boyfriend Kyle Sandilands' record label King Kyle Records and released two solo singles "Ooh Ahh" and "Hard for Me". In 2007, she became a member of the pop duo ScarlettBelle, before resuming her solo career in 2011. Jaber released her debut extended play Felt, Not Heard through US independent label Cleopatra Records in November 2012.
Early life
Tamara Jaber was born in Paddington, New South Wales on 13 August 1982. Jaber's mother is of New Zealand origin and her father is Lebanese. She began singing and dancing at the age of three. At the age of eight, Jaber had begun formal tap, jazz and ballet lessons. She later auditioned for the Newtown High School of the Performing Arts and was accepted in, studying dance and drama. At the age of fourteen, Jaber represented Australia in the America Song and Dance Championships and won first prize. She also won a scholarship to the Australian Institute of Music for years 11 and 12, completing a Diploma of Music, at the same time also completing her HSC.
Volume 3 (Vol. 3°) is the third album released by Italiansinger-songwriterFabrizio De André. It was first issued in 1968 on Bluebell Records and is De André's last studio release on Bluebell. Of the songs contained in the album, only four were previously unreleased; the other ones are re-recordings of Karim period songs.
Track listing
All songs written and composed by Fabrizio De André, except where noted.
Songs
"Il gorilla" is a translated version of the Georges Brassens' song "Le Gorille". It is about a gorilla which, escaped from its cage, loses his virginity after deciding to rape a judge instead of an old woman. The story is ultimately used to convey a message against death penalty.
"S'i' fosse foco" is based on the LXXXVI satirical sonnet of the Rime (Rhymes), written by Italian medieval poet Cecco Angiolieri.
"Nell'acqua della chiara fontana" is a translated version of the Georges Brassens' song "Dans l'eau de la claire fontaine".
"Il re fa rullare i tamburi" is a translated version of the French traditional song of the 14th century, "Le roi a fait battre tambour", which had been recorded in its native language by Yves Montand in 1959.
Volume 3 is the fourth studio album by She & Him, a collaboration between M. Ward and actress Zooey Deschanel. It was released by Merge Records on May 7, 2013 (US) and on May 13, 2013 by Double Six Records (UK). On the album, there are eleven songs written by Deschanel and three cover songs.
On March 7, 2013 the song "Never Wanted Your Love" was released as a single. On April 10, 2013, the song "I Could've Been Your Girl" was released for streaming via Soundcloud.
Reception
Volume 3 holds a 68 out of 100 on Metacritic, a review aggregator, indicating generally favorable reviews (based on 26 reviews). Gregory Heaney of Allmusic praised She and Him's "sunny, lovestruck sounds." Magnet Magazine stated that the album is "instantly likeable," and Dale Eisinger of Consequence of Sound commented that the album contains many "effortless and fully realized songs." However, while Rudy K. of Sputnikmusic praised, "the simplicity of the songs and the everyday romance they conjure," he also noted that at times the album "feels rote, a meticulous tastefulness that is pretty and nostalgic, yet largely uninteresting."

More on Tamara Jaber:
Tamara Jaber is one of Australia's hottest entertainers. Considered a triple threat, this stunning singer/songwriter, dancer and performer recently won the hearts of a nation as the runner up of 2010's 'Dancing With The Stars' and as one half of SonyBMG's pop duo recording artists Scarlett Belle reigning her one of WHO Magazine's sexiest people of 2010.
Already a household name in her native Australia with gold singles and ARIAs under her belt, Tamara now sets her sights on the international stage with a breathtaking new look and an exciting new sound.
Australia was first introduced to Tamara in 2001 when she won Series two of hit TV series: Popstars and formed Scandal'us. The five piece group went on to record their album 'Startin' Something' which peaked at no. 2 on the ARIAnet Albums Chart and reached the no. 1 spot for single 'Me, Myself and I'. At the age of 21, Tamara and her band mates achieved a feat a lot of Australian artists dream about, taking home an ARIA award for Highest Selling Single. Undisputedly the biggest musical talent to come out of the Popstars into the music industry in Australia at such a young age and for developing herself into an artist.
Once the group split, Tamara took some time away from music to refocus on her direction, and after a few years, armed with a new determination, she created and led her new duo Scarlett Belle (along with new band-mate Reigan Derry) to the US where, after spending over a month in the studio with Snoop writing and recording, Scarlett Belle then found themselves working with accomplished producers, writers and artists such as NeYo, J R Rotem, Stargate, Dianne Warren, Dre & Vedal and Nate Dogg. Scarlett Belle then went on to be signed to Def Jam Records by L.A. Reid himself.
While Tamara loved the music she was making, she had a different song in her heart and found herself on a new songwriting journey that would lead her to a new chapter in her life and her craft: a sound filled with emotive storytelling and melodies based on personal experience closer to her truth. "My new music is a direct reflection of me. It's unapologetic, it's raw, and it's melodic and real. It's undeniable in its pop sensitivity however it's honesty is very relatable.
When Tamara is not writing or performing music, she is dancing and honing her acting talents. Tamara's display of dancing skills, self-deprecating manner and effervescent personality on "Dancing with the Stars' won over not only the Australian public but judges also, labeling her "the best dancer they have seen in the history of the show". Her natural presence and charismatic personality, both on and off the camera, have now paved the way further into the realms of television presenting, publishing, and producing with strengths the world has yet to see.
Whether on stage, in the recording studio, on the red carpet, Tamara's natural beauty, wit, and infectious personality sets her apart as one of Australia's most popular talents and most exciting new international exports.
