History
CFRW first went on the air as CJQM, an easy listening station owned by Winnipeg Broadcast Associates Ltd. (a division of Vancouver Broadcast Associates, the original owners of CHQM and CHQM-FM in Vancouver) at 1470kHz, on November 1, 1963. Shortly afterward, CJQM-FM signed on to simulcast its AM sister's programming. Winnipeg Broadcast Associates sold both stations in 1965 to QM Winnipeg Ltd., which was later purchased by Radio Winnipeg Ltd. The callsign changed to CFRW in 1969. Jim Pattison's CJOR Ltd. (the owner of Vancouver station CJOR) bought CFRW from the bankrupt Radio Winnipeg in 1970.
CKGM is an English languageCanadianradio station in Montreal. Formerly an affiliate of Teamsports radio network, it was one of three stations to retain the sports format after the network folded in 2002. The station has an all-sportsformat since May 2001. It was previously known as The Team 990 until it switched to the TSN Radio branding as TSN Radio 990 in October 2011.
CKGM officially began broadcasting on 690 kHz, as a 50,000 wattsclear-channelClass I-A station, on September 4, 2012. It changed its branding to TSN Radio 690, accordingly. Its nighttime signal covers most of the eastern half of North America, including three-fourths of Canada. Its transmitters are located near Mercier, while its studios are located on René Lévesque Boulevard East in Montreal.
CKGM is best known for having been a legendary and influential top 40 station in its heyday from 1970 to 1986.
Current programming
Local programming on the station includes Melnick in the Afternoon with Mitch Melnick, Off the Cuff with "Knuckles" Chris Nilan, The Montreal Forum, an all sports show and a forum for Montreal Canadiens fans with Tony Marinaro, and The Morning Show with Elliott Price, Rick Moffat and Shaun Starr. These shows mainly focus on Montreal Canadiens analysis, especially during hockey season, but also address all the major sports in North American. TSN Radio 690 airs in-depth coverage of the Montreal Canadiens, as the English language flagship broadcaster. It features lengthy pre and post-game coverage for each game.
Long known as 1050 CHUM, the station played Top 40 hits from the late 1950s to the mid-1980s. CHUM then carried an oldies format featuring music from that period between 1989 to 2009, except for a brief stint as a sports radio station, The Team 1050, from 2001-2002.
In March 2009, CHUM switched to a news format known as CP24 Radio 1050, which operated primarily as an audio simulcast of CP24.
In April 2011, CHUM reverted to a sports format as TSN Radio 1050.
The Tribes series begins in 2471, when a scientist Solomon Petresun invents the first cybrid, a bio-cybernetic hybrid artificial intelligence named Prometheus. Based on its design, thousands of cybrids are mass-produced as slaves. By 2602, Prometheus grows wary of humans and rallies all cybrids against humanity.
In Starsiege game, the Terran resistance manages to drive Prometheus' forces out of Earth and onto the Moon where they are decapitation by General Ambrose Gierling and his squad's. Prometheus, however, survives the explosion and to counter this threat, Petresun (having technically achieved immortality through his studies) proclaims himself the Emperor of Mankind in 2652 and succeeds in unifying and rebuilding the Terran civilization. Pursuing his goal of fortifying the Earth against the inevitable cybrid retaliation, Petresun ruthlessly exploits Martian and Venusian colonies, spawning massive resistance movements among the colonists by 2802.
Translin is a DNA-binding protein that in humans is encoded by the TSNgene. Together with translin-associated factor X, translin forms the component 3 of promoter of RISC (C3PO) complex which facilitates endonucleolytic cleavage of the passenger strand during microRNA loading into the RNA-induced silencing complex (RISC).
Function
This gene encodes a DNA-binding protein which specifically recognizes conserved target sequences at the breakpoint junction of chromosomal translocations. Translin polypeptides form a multimeric structure that is responsible for its DNA-binding activity. Recombination-associated motifs and translin-binding sites are present at recombination hotspots and may serve as indicators of breakpoints in genes which are fused by translocations. These binding activities may play a crucial role in chromosomal translocation in lymphoid neoplasms.
"Low" is the debut single by American rapper Flo Rida, featured on his debut studio album Mail on Sunday and also featured on the soundtrack to the 2008 film Step Up 2: The Streets. The song features fellow American rapper T-Pain and was co-written with T-Pain. There is also a remix in which the hook is sung by Flo Rida rather than T-Pain. An official remix was made which features Pitbull and T-Pain. With its catchy, up-tempo and club-oriented Southern hip hop rhythms, the song peaked at the summit of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
The song was a massive success worldwide and was the longest running number-one single of 2008 in the United States. With over 6 million digital downloads, it has been certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA, and was the most downloaded single of the 2000s decade, measured by paid digital downloads. The song was named 3rd on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade. "Low" spent ten consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Hot 100, the longest-running number-one single of 2008.

Music, radio and Toronto have never been the same again. CHUM was the first radio station in Canada to play Elvis and the Beatles. And 1050 CHUM is honoured at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland.
The CHUM Chart, the CHUM music and the CHUM deejays continue to influence generations. While the world famous CHUM neon sign remains a beacon that shines brightly at 1331 Yonge Street.
