Canada Road Trip: Best Things To Do In Saskatchewan
In this video, we share some of the best things to do in Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon, Regina, Grasslands National Park, and more!
Welcome to Saskatchewan!
Often known as an incredibly flat province, nothing could be further from the truth. With lush boreal forests and pristine lakes in the North to prairie landscapes and badlands in the South, Saskatchewan is the perfect place for outdoor lovers to explore.
We drove a pontoon boat around Lake Waskesiu, learned about the province's first nations at Wanuskewin Heritage Centre, and went for a float in Canada's version of the dead sea. We also toured the RCMP Heritage Centre, witnessed the RCMP sunset ceremony, climbed a massive sand dune, and hiked through one of the few remaining natural grasslands in North America. We packed a lot ...

Canada's Prairie Provinces are both about the same size and share a pretty similar overall geography (Alberta's western end aside). But despite these similarities, Alberta has a population that's about four times the size of Saskatchewan. So what's going on in Alberta that's attracted so many more people than Saskatchewan?

SW Saskatchewan: 10 Thrilling Places To Visit
From Happyland to Happy Valley, you’ll see a ton of amazing places that are mostly unknown and have very little tourists. Most of these places are in remote areas of SW Saskatchewan and have little or no services. They make for amazing photography and hiking.
#saskatchewan #shaunavon #swiftcurrent
I moved to Shaunavon, SK from Banff in 2006 and have explored most of these places many times. It’s still amazing how many people who live in the province never heard and or never visited any of these spots.
SW Saskatchewan is also where you’ll find unique treasures such as the French town of Gravelbourg or the ghost towns along Highways #13 and #18.
SW Saskatchewan is one of the most thrilling to visit in Canada if you are a photographer, and the adventure begins only 4 hours east of Cal...

We packed a lot of adventures into our short visit and can't wait to return one day and explore the province further.
We explored Saskatchewan from July 27th - August 8th, 2017!

We will drive to and through every driveable province and territory, showcasing Canada's natural beauty and regional attractions while interviewing Canadians of all cultures and backgrounds, including local celebrities, immigrants, refugees, and everyday rural and urban Canadians. Our aim is to dig deep into what makes Canada such an incredibly inspiring country while showing off the best of Canada's tourism to Canadians and to the world.

Canada's Prairie Provinces are both about the same size and share a pretty similar overall geography (
Alberta's western end aside). But despite these similarities, Alberta has a population that's about four times the size of Saskatchewan. So what's going on in Alberta that's attracted so many more people than Saskatchewan?

SW Saskatchewan is one of the most thrilling to visit in Canada if you are a photographer, and the adventure begins only 4 hours east of Calgary or an hour south of Regina.
Did you know there is quicksand? Scorpions? Rattlesnakes? Places you can find dinosaur bones?
As a bonus, if you visit Old Man On His Back, in the extreme SW, you can see the mountains on a clear day!
Most people who drive through Saskatchewan take Highway #1. Next time, drive across using one of the southern highways and explore some of these places for yourself. You will be glad you did!

Just one person owns Canada. Who is she?
I was procrastinating @ work a couple weeks ago and ended up accidentally learning this fun fact.
Who is the one person in the world that owns Canada (the 2nd largest country in the world) and what is her claim to ownership?
Watch this video to find out!

- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

How To Do:
1)Walk to the bar. Stand with your mid-foot under the bar. Don't touch it with your shins. Medium stance, toes pointing out.
2)Grab the bar, use a medium grip width. Narrower than on Bench Press, wider than on Deadlifts. Hold the bar low in your hands.
3)Unlock your knees, keep your hips higher than on the deadlift. Bend your knees but keep them back so the bar can't hit them.
4)Lift your chest, straighten your back, don't move the bar. Don't drop your hips. Don't squeeze your shoulder-blades together.
5)Row: Take a big breath, hold it and pull the bar against your lower chest. Lead with your elbows and pull them towards the ceiling.

History of Saskatchewan
History of Saskatchewan encompasses the study of past human events and activities of the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, the middle of Canada's three prairie provinces. Archaeological studies give some clues as to the history and lifestyles of the Palaeo-Indian, Taltheilei, and Shield Archaic Traditions who were the first occupants of the prehistoric era of this geographical area. They evolved into the history of the first nations people who kept their history alive in oral tradition. The First Nation bands that were a part of this area were the Chipewyan, Cree, Saulteaux, Assiniboine, Atsina, and Sioux.
Henry Kelsey , was the first European to visit this area, and arrived 1690. Other European explorers also soon arrived followed by fur traders such as the Governor and Company of Adve...

ABANDONED SASKATCHEWAN - Lepine, SK - 4K Drone Footage
(Tweaked the colour grading from original version)
The hamlet of Lepine was established 7 rail miles from Wakaw, the first grain point east of Wakaw on the CNR line from Aberdeen to Melfort. Grain elevators were built between 1929 and 1931, later belonging to the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool and the UGG (United Grain Growers). There was a post office, probably ran out of the elevator manager homes from 1930-1969.
When the CNR abandoned the line in 1981-1982, the hamlet faded into obscurity - only these two prairie giants remain.
Lepine was possibly named after one of Louis Riel's councillors, Maxime Lepine. Along with his brother Ambroise-Dydime, served as a councillor in the provisional government created by Riel during the Red River Rebellion in 1869. In 1882, he moved to Saskatchewan, s...

US🇺🇸 vs. Canada🇨🇦 Healthcare…Which one’s better?
In Canada you'll never have to worry about going bankrupt if you break your leg, but might wait a bit for it to get fixed!
This has lawyas been an ongoing debate about which Healthcare system is better, the US or Canada. Both have their good and bad. Having used both, my personal opinion is that you can't buy the kind of peace of mind free healthcare comes with, so I choose Canada. But which do you prefer?

Henry Kelsey , was the first European to visit this area, and arrived 1690. Other European explorers also soon arrived followed by fur traders such as the Governor and Company of Adventurers of England trading into Hudson's Bay and North West Company. Clifford Sifton, Minister of the Interior in charge of immigration, induced a variety of agriculturally inclined European emigrants to Canada to settle prairie land around the transcontinental railway. The political boundaries of this area have changed several times evolving through Rupert's Land, Provisional Districts of the North-West Territories, and finally a province. Saskatchewan has been a province of Canada since 1905.
Natural history
The history of this plains area actually began 2,000–2,100 million years ago wherein there were two continents separated by an ocean. The "Churchill Continent" which would be Manitoba and Saskatchewan, and the "Superior Continent" which would comprise Manitoba and Ontario. 1,830 – 1,800 million years ago these two land masses collided. The Northern shield area and western Rockies formed higher land from the collision.

He was convicted of high treason and sent to Stony Mountain Penitentiary in August 1885, he was released in 1886 having serving about seven months of his seven-year sentence. In 1896, he was given an appointment in the Indian agency at Battleford. Lépine died in poverty at Duck Lake, Saskatchewan on September 16, 1897.

In 1882, he moved to Saskatchewan, settling near St. Louis. Maxime Lépine fought at the Battle of Fish Creek and surrendered to General Middleton after the defeat at Batoche.

Saskatchewan (/səˈskætʃəwən/ or /səˈskætʃəˌwɑːn/) is a prairie province in Canada, which has a total area of 651,900 square kilometres (251,700 sq mi) and a land area of 592,534 square kilometres (228,800 sq mi), the remainder being water area (covered by lakes/ponds, reservoirs and rivers). Saskatchewan is bordered on the west by the Province of
Alberta, on the north by the Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba, and on the south by the U.S. states of Montana and North Dakota. As of December 2013, the population of Saskatchewan was estimated at 1,114,170. Residents primarily live in the southern half of the province. Of the total population, 257,300 live in the province's largest city, Saskatoon, while 210,000 live in the provincial capital, Regina. Other major cities include Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Swift Current and North Battleford.
Saskatchewan was first explored by Europeans in 1690 and settled in 1774, having also been inhabited for thousands of years by various indigenous groups. It became a province in 1905, its name derived from the Saskatchewan River. The river was known as kisiskāciwani-sīpiy ("swift flowing river") in the Cree language. In the early 20th century the province became known as a stronghold for Canadian democratic socialism. Tommy Douglas, who was premier from 1944 to 1961, became the first social-democratic politician to be elected in North America. The province's economy is based on agriculture, mining, and energy. Saskatchewan's current premier is Brad Wall and its lieutenant-governor is Vaughn Solomon Schofield.

Saskatchewan
Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! SUMMARY
=======
Saskatchewan ( (listen)) is a prairie and boreal province in western Canada, the only province without natural borders. It has an area of 651,900 square kilometres (251,700 sq mi), nearly 10 percent of which (59,366 square kilometres (22,900 sq mi)) is fresh water, composed mostly of rivers, reservoirs, and the province's 100,000 lakes.
Saskatchewan is bordered on the west by
Alberta, on the north by the Northwest Territories, on the east by Manitoba, to the northeast by Nunavut, and on the south by the U.S. states of Montana and North Dakota. As of late 2017, Saskatchewan's population was estimated at 1,163,925. Residents primarily live in the southern prairie half of the province, while the northern boreal half is mostly forested and sparsely populated. Of the total population, roughly half live in the province's largest city Saskatoon, or the provincial capital Regina. Other notable cities include Prince Albert, Moose Jaw, Yorkton, Swift Current, North Battleford, Melfort, and the border city Lloydminster (partially within Alberta).Saskatchewan is a landlocked province with large distances to moderating bodies of waters. As a result, its climate is extremely continental, rendering severe winters throughout the province. Southern areas have very warm or hot summers. Midale and Yellow Grass near the U.S. border are tied for the highest ever recorded temperatures in Canada with 45 °C (113 °F) observed at both locations on July 5, 1937. In winter, temperatures below −45 °C (−49 °F) are possible even in the south during extreme cold snaps.
Saskatchewan has been inhabited for thousands of years by various indigenous groups, and first explored by Europeans in 1690 and settled in 1774. It became a province in 1905, carved out from the vast North-West Territories, which had until then included most of the Canadian Prairies. In the early 20th century the province became known as a stronghold for Canadian social democracy; North America's first social-democratic government was elected in 1944. The province's economy is based on agriculture, mining, and energy. Saskatchewan's current lieutenant governor is Thomas Molloy and the current premier is Scott Moe.
In 1992, the federal and provincial governments signed a historic land claim agreement with First Nations in Saskatchewan. The First Nations received compensation and were permitted to buy land on the open market for the bands; they have acquired about 3,079 square kilometres (761,000 acres; 1,189 sq mi), now reserve lands. Some First Nations have used their settlement to invest in urban areas, including Saskatoon.
