Saint Genevieve (French:Sainte Geneviève; Latin:Sancta Genovefa, Genoveva; from Germanic keno "kin" and wefa "wife") (Nanterre, c. 419/422 AD – Paris 502/512 AD), is the patron saint of Paris in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox traditions. Her feast day is kept on January the 3rd.
She was born in Nanterre and moved to Paris after encountering Germanus of Auxerre and Lupus of Troyes and dedicated herself to a Christian life. In 451 she led a "prayer marathon" that was said to have saved Paris by diverting Attila's Huns away from the city. When Childeric I besieged the city in 464 and conquered it, she acted as an intermediary between the city and its conqueror, collecting food and convincing Childeric to release his prisoners.
Her following and her status as patron saint of Paris were promoted by Clotilde, who may have commissioned the writing of her vita. This was most likely written in Tours, where Clotilde retired after her husband's death, as evidenced also by the importance of Martin of Tours as a saintly model.
LP version released by Southern Lord in June 2007 with a jacket made of velvet with the logo in silver foil. Limited to 1500 copies, 500 being marble-purple.
The comedic tone of Genevieve was established by the following disclaimer at the end of the opening credits:
This was meant to underscore the fact that the actual event portrayed in the film was, as stated in its Official Entry Regulations, "NOT A RACE."
Plot
Two veteran cars and their crews participating in the annual London to Brighton Veteran Car Run. Alan McKim (John Gregson), a young barrister, and his wife, Wendy (Dinah Sheridan), drive Genevieve, a 1904 Darracq. Their friend Ambrose Claverhouse (Kenneth More), a brash advertising salesman, his latest girlfriend, fashion model Rosalind Peters (Kay Kendall) and her pet St. Bernard ride in a 1905 Spyker.

Stealing Sheep live at Trinity, Bristol - Genevieve
Last time we saw Stealing Sheep I was feeling decidedly peaky and eventually had to be forcibly hauled out of the Fleece by Mrs Knappsterino and driven home after managing one brief bit of video ("Oh Love What Do I Know?" and "Bats" - posted on YouTube). This time I was fighting fit and able to enjoy this extraordinary band without fear of mishap. They are getting better and better, aren't they? It's not just my imagination? Stealing Sheep - Genevieve
Stealing Sheep, performing "Genevieve" at HowTheLightGetsIn, Hay-on-Wye, on 1 Jun 2013. The song is from their album, "Into The Diamond Sun".
Gorgeous impromptu acapella set from the girls - 'impromptu' as they had their set cancelled and could have said 'blow it!' - yet instead they treated us to a blissful handful of songs which emerged as an endearing memory of the whole Bestival weekend .. and it looked like they enjoyed it too - what fine lasses! ;)
