Samuel George "Sammy" Davis Jr. (December 8, 1925 – May 16, 1990) was an American entertainer. Primarily a dancer and singer, he was also an actor of stage and screen, musician, and impressionist, noted for his impersonations of actors, musicians and other celebrities. At the age of three Davis began his career in vaudeville with his father and Will Mastin as the Will Mastin Trio, which toured nationally. After military service Davis returned to the trio. Davis became an overnight sensation following a nightclub performance at Ciro's (in West Hollywood) after the 1951 Academy Awards. With the trio, he became a recording artist. In 1954, he lost his left eye in a car accident, and several years later, he converted to Judaism.
Davis's film career began as a child in 1933. In 1960, he appeared in the Rat Pack film, Ocean's 11. After a starring role on Broadway in 1956's Mr Wonderful, he returned to the stage in 1964's Golden Boy. In 1966 he had his own TV variety show, The Sammy Davis Jr. Show. Davis's career slowed in the late 1960s, but he had a hit record with "The Candy Man" in 1972 and became a star in Las Vegas, earning him the nickname "Mister Show Business".

Sydney Charles Houghton "Sammy" Davis (9 January 1887, London – 9 January 1981, Guildford) was a British racing motorist, journalist and clubman.
Davis was born in South Kensington, London on 9 January 1887, the son of Edwin and Georgina Davis, his father was a merchant and tea importer. He was educated at Westminster School and University College London. While at school, he met Malcolm Campbell, and the duo were involved in a "spectacular pile-up" with a borrowed penny-farthing bicycle. In 1906 Davis became an apprentice with the Daimler Company. Training as a draughtsman, he became involved with the design of various products, from the Daimler-Renard Road Train to Daimler's team of cars in the 1907 Kaiserpreis race. In 1910, he joined the staff of Automobile Engineer, just then being launched by Iliffe (also publishers of The Autocar) as a technical illustrator and was by 1912 also a writer and sub-editor. At the start of the First World War he joined the Royal Naval Air Service and served in France with armoured car section. Following his demobilisation he became sports editor of The Autocar although he also served in the Second World War in the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
Sammy James Davis, Jr. (born April 8, 1980) is a former American football cornerback. He is a businessman and owner of the Austin Capitals, an American Basketball Association franchise. He was drafted by the San Diego Chargers 30th overall in the 2003 NFL Draft. He played college football at Texas A&M. Davis also played for the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
After a collegiate career at Texas A&M, Davis played for the San Diego Chargers for three seasons. He then spent single seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Davis started 16 games in his rookie season, but he never started more than ten games in a season between 2004 and 2007.
During his NFL career, Davis was involved in the development of a system that allowed football players to drink water while on the playing field.
Spoken For is the second studio album by Christian rock band MercyMe. Released on October 1, 2002, Spoken For sold 28,000 copies in its first week, debuting at number 41 on the Billboard 200; it also peaked at number 2 on the Christian Albums chart and number 6 on the Top Pop Catalog Albums chart. The album received a generally positive reception from critics, some of whom praised the album as being both a lyrical and musical progression from their debut album Almost There. Several critics also noted a shift in sound from Almost There, describing Spoken For as having a roots rock sound. At the 34th GMA Dove Awards, Spoken For was nominated for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year; the album was certified Gold by the RIAA in October 2003.
Three singles were released in promotion of Spoken For. The lead single and title track, "Spoken For", peaked at number 1 on the Radio & Records Christian AC and INSPO charts. The second single from the album, "Word of God Speak", spent a record 23 weeks at the top of the Billboard Christian Songs chart, and also topped the Billboard Hot Christian AC chart and the Radio & Records Christian AC and INSPO charts. "The Change Inside of Me" was released as the final single from the album, and peaked at number 8 on the Radio & Records Christian CHR chart.
