Blais was brought up in Quebec City, where he gained an interest in synthesis and editing techniques from a young age. He later went on to perform in several live bands and compose music for theatre. His interest in dance music began with the acid house movement, particularly UK label Warp Records' releases.
Career
In the early 90s, he started playing live in raves and clubs in Canada. He was then known as “Everything”, because his live sets could range anywhere from techno to house, ambient and even drum and bass. Fred Everything's career as a DJ began in 1993, when he opened for Sasha at the Metropolis club night in Montreal. After building up a reputation in the US and Canada, he moved to Montreal in 1996, where he released many records under various record labels, including 20:20 Vision, with whom he went on to release a total of 20 records, including his widely successful album "Under the Sun" in 2000.
Yorktown Heights is the debut solo album by Feeder frontman Grant Nicholas. The album was released on 11 August 2014 in the United Kingdom and recorded during 2013, being a year after Nicholas announced at Feeder's final show of 2012 at the Brixton Academy that the band would be taking a break. It was with the debut play of "Soul Mates" on the BBC Radio 2 show The Dermot O'Leary Show on 31 May 2014, that Grant's solo career made its first announcement.
Early reviews for the album have been positive, with Renowned For Sound giving it a 4/5, describing it as "a very introvert and self reflecting record" and calling it "a first solo effort he can be proud of." GigSlutz also gave the record a 4/5, commenting that "it continues to surprise and sounds fresh throughout" and concluding that "fans of Feeder and Grant Nicholas will not be disappointed."
Soul Mates follows the story of a couple of friends who are continually drawn together across the course of human history. In 2014, they are a pair of fashion-obsessed Bondi Hipsters. In prehistoric times, they experience all of life's firsts as a couple of cavemen. In 1981 they are two New Zealand secret agents known as the Kiwi Assassins. In the year 2093 they are working in a time travel agency called Ticky Time Tours, tackling time travel conundrums.
Soul Mates is created, written, produced and directed by Connor Van Vuuren, Christiaan Van Vuuren and Nicholas Boshier. Their previous online projects include Bondi Hipsters, Beached Az, Trent from Punchy and The Fully Sick Rapper.
Plot summary
Cavemen
Sticks (Boshier) and Rocky (Van Vuuren) are two cavemen, who tackle the new questions of prehistoric life. How do you find a woman? Is it alright to eat babies, or gods? They also tackle Rocky's self-destructive addictions to staring at the sun and spinning.
Song is owned by Fred Everything / Lazy Days Recordings. I just want to share this classic with people who love house music.

Kruse & Nuernberg feat. Nathalie Claude - Silk City (Fred Everything Lazy Dub) - Lazy Days
Florian Kruse & Nils Nuernberg are back on Lazy Days after the successful 'Sliced & Chopped' last year. This time they're bringing their first original vocal production featuring Nathalie Claude who has previously recorded with Andre Lodemann. This is something different from Kruse & Nuernberg and we think this could be their best work yet. With its intriguing melodies, strings and piano orchestration, 'Silk City' has got modern classic written all over it. Nathalie is a Jazz singer and the tone of her voice reminds of Telepopmusik's 'Love Can Damage Your Health'. Fred Everything steps up to the remixes with a straight forward modern house production and a dub that brings back early influences of Mauritzio and Mood 2 Swing. The bonus track Mama's Garden keeps the K&N floor friendly traditi...

The man behind Circus recordings delivers another poignantly penned vocal cut with the follow up to 'Beg', featuring the soothing and heartfelt vocals of Alexander East. Set against a backdrop of melodic and melancholic synths, the down tempo percussion and intermittent nostalgic piano loop cleverly compliment the self reflective lyrics, helping Yousef tell his emotive story of hope and self esteem. This is another sophisticated, multifaceted cut, designed just as much for the dance floor as it is a genuine narrative, once again exemplifying his intelligent and refined production skills.

In stark contrast the Catz 'n Dogz remix couldn't be any further from the original, the vocal having been stripped away leaving it devoid of its former emotion. Instead the intricate fusion of percussive sounds and experimental patterning of breakdowns, coupled with a thumping 'in yer face' bass line and low end reverberating synths, make it an ideal track for getting down and dirty. To complete the package is Fred Everything's Lazy Vox Remix is a more obvious and straight up club ready reworking of the original with its up tempo rhythms, dynamic bassline and chopped up vocals. And with Fred Everything's Lazy Dub thrown in for good measure this is, in short, a perfect party package.

There's a tone in the sound of your voice My heart is listening to And a message inside of your mind, I can relate to The feeling inside of your soul, I am feeling Maybe soulmates exist after all There's an energy inside your smile that shines upon me And the positive sides of your dreams, I am dreaming Simple understanding is what I need, hey, hee hey Maybe soulmates exist after all I realised early on, good and bad in life, have a meaning And I tried, oh to be strong, until I die, I'll still be learning But your spirit and your vibe, touched me deeply down inside I was wrong, you were there all along Ooh, the feel of your hand when you touch is electricity You make me feel good, you make me dizzy Love that's demanding, is what I need, hey, hee hey! Maybe soulmates exist after all Maybe soulmates exist after all I realised early on, good and bad in life, have a meaning And I tried, oh to be strong, until I die, I'll still be learning But your spirit and your vibe, touched me deeply down inside I was wrong, you were there all along You were there baby all along
