After the conquest of Constantinople in 1453, the Ottoman sultan Mehmed II continued his campaigns in Europe. His first moves against Serbia and Hungary sparked another conflitct against John (Janos) Hunyadi and culminated at the siege of Belgrade in 1456. In the next decade Mehmed conquered the remnants of the Eastern Roman Empire in Morea and Trapezund, ended the independence of Serbia and Bosnia and also fought a war against Vlad Tepes of Wallachia. Vlad and Mehmed fought near Targoviste in 1462. The (Staggering) Siege of Belgrade 1456
In 1453 the ever-expanding Ottoman Empire breached the gate to Europe: Constantinople was captured. And soon Sultan Mehmed II, known as the Conqueror, renewed his offensive efforts. On the 4th of July 1456 he arrived at the Hungarian border fortress of Belgrade with an army of about 40’000 men and 200 ships. This marked the beginning of a siege characterized by an unusual crusader army, a trap failing to spring, and a towering fortress. The siege of Belgrade or in Hungarian Nándorfehérvár ended on July 22, a day now celebrated as a national Memorial Day in Hungary. This is how contemporary historiography tells the story of the staggering siege of Belgrade.

The siege of Belgrade, Battle of Belgrade or siege of Nándorfehérvár
was a military blockade of Belgrade that occurred July 4–22, 1456. After the fall of Constantinople in 1453, the Ottoman Sultan Mehmed the Conqueror rallied his resources to subjugate the Kingdom of Hungary. His immediate objective was the border fort of the town of Belgrade (Nándorfehérvár). John Hunyadi, the Count of Temes and captain-general of Hungary, who had fought many battles against the Turks in the previous two decades, prepared the defenses of the fortress.
The siege escalated into a major battle, during which Hunyadi led a sudden counterattack that overran the Ottoman camp, ultimately compelling the wou...

After the second battle of Kosovo, a temporary silence followed the Ottoman-European conflict, however that quickly changed with the death of Sultan Murad II in 1451.
His son, Mehmed II followed his father on the Ottoman throne, who was rightfully nicknamed as Mehmed the Conqueror by the later-ages.
His reign marked the greatest and most successful era of Ottoman expansion, which was soon felt throughout Europe. On the 29th of May, 1453 the walls of Constantinople were breached, and the Byzantine Empire, thought to be everlasting, fell to the crescent banners. But this was just the ...

The Battle of Belgrade (1456)
The Battle of Belgrade in 1456 was a significant conflict in the ongoing struggle between the forces of the Christian states of Europe and the expanding Ottoman Empire. It marked a crucial point in the defense of Central Europe against Ottoman expansion, illustrating the formidable resistance posed by European forces against Sultan Mehmed II, who had captured Constantinople just three years earlier in 1453, drastically altering the balance of power in the region.

I'd rate this scenario 3 - 1 ;)
In this scenario by IgorHP6635, we play as the Magyar commander John Hunyadi, who is tasked with lifting the siege of Belgrade from the Ottoman forces. First you have to actually get to the city, and from there, hold of a 3-pronged attack from the Turkish forces. To win, you have to take out the three Ottoman camps!

The siege escalated into a major battle, during which Hunyadi led a sudden counterattack that overran the Ottoman camp, ultimately compelling the wounded Mehmed II to lift the siege and retreat. The battle had significant consequences, as it stabilized the southern frontiers of the Kingdom of Hungary for more than half a century and thus considerably delayed the Ottoman advance in Europe.

1:04 Prepare for war

2:34 Start of the siege
3:14 Battle for the Danube
4:01 The Ottoman assault
4:30 Christian counterattack
But this was just the beginning. Mehmed sought to be the inheritor of the Roman Empire, and he had his sights set at the old continent.
His next target was Belgrade (1456), the southern gate of Hungary and with that, the key to Europe. However the royal houses of Europe failed to unite against the Ottoman threat, so John Hunyadi stood alone against the conquering horde, only with an army of peasants, armed with scythes and pitchforks. Thus, the fate of Europe and the Christiandom would be decided by their sacrifice.
