Ben Mezrich (born February 7, 1969) is an American author from Princeton, New Jersey.
Personal life
Mezrich was born in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Molli Newman, a lawyer, and Dr. Reuben Mezrich, a chairman of radiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He was raised in a conservative Jewish household and attended Princeton Day School, in Princeton, New Jersey. He graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Social Studies from Harvard University in 1991. Some of his books have been written under the pseudonym Holden Scott. He is known for his non-fiction books.
Mezrich is best known for his first non-fiction work, Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six MIT Students Who Took Vegas for Millions. This book tells the story of a group of students from MIT who bet on blackjack games using a sophisticated card counting system, earning millions of dollars at casinos in Las Vegas and other gambling centers in the United States and the Caribbean. The story was made into the movie 21, released in 2008. Despite being categorised as non-fiction many of the characters in Bringing Down the House are composite characters and some of the events described have been contested by the people the characters are based on.
"Seven Wonders" is a song by Fleetwood Mac. It was released as the second single from the band's 1987 album Tango in the Night.
Stevie Nicks performed the lead vocals on this song, which was written by Sandy Stewart with contributed lyrics by Stevie Nicks. While listening to the demo by Stewart (who did not provide any written lyrics), Nicks misunderstood the phrase "All the way down you held the line" as "All the way down to Emmeline", which is what she sang. Nicks also added an ambiguous word, sounding like "Sara" or "Tara", during the breaks between choruses and verses. (The word may refer to Nicks' song "Sara", on Fleetwood Mac's 1979 album Tusk, or even to another Nicks composition on Tango in the Night, "Welcome to the Room... Sara"; the lyrics to the latter song include references to Scarlett O'Hara and Tara, and Nicks has used the name "Sara" several times in the past as a pseudonym for herself.) Some fans have also speculated that she may be saying "Aaron" rather than "Sara" or "Tara." The title of the demo by Sandy Stewart was reportedly called "Aaron."
These additions as well as various other changes to the lyrics, led to Nicks' credit as co-writer of the song.
Industrial society is characterized by the use of external energy sources, such as fossil fuels, to increase the rate and scale of production. The production of food is shifted to large commercial farms where the products of industry, such as combine harvesters and fossil fuel based fertilizers, are used to decrease required human labor while increasing production. No longer needed for the production of food, excess labor is moved into these factories where mechanization is utilized to further increase efficiency. As populations grow, and mechanization is further refined, often to the level of automation, many workers shift to expanding service industries.
Seven Wonders of the Industrial World is a 7-part British documentary/docudrama television miniseries that originally aired from 4September2003(2003-09-04) to 16October2003(2003-10-16) on BBC and was later released on DVD. The programme examines seven engineering feats that occurred since the Industrial Revolution. The same feats are covered in a companion book of the same name by producer Deborah Cadbury.
Production
The programmes were dramatised versions of actual events: actors played the various figures involved, reciting monologues and dialogue based on their letters and writings. It cost approximately ₤1 million to create the 7-part documentary. A book of the same name was released by producerDeborah Cadbury, exploring the same feats.

The world is mine but for a time Please hear the love I bring for you to follow Come with me, with diamonds in the sea And stare the hearts of men whose fight in sorrow It's foolish to suppose you know me well, I know Everything that I touch won't turn to gold Money's not my way although your own lost soul's Waiting for the day to break that hole And I love you I've never loved someone like I do I love you The world is yours if you want me to I love you I've never loved someone like I do Whisper please some scandal to the trees I'm sure they would enjoy themselves enormously Will you and I sit up in the sky And chase our minds through space and time relentlessly? Circumstances indicate for you and I If the time is right, we bid a fond farewell Some friends of mine, the world they take on for a while Then seldom find the time they know so well And I love you I've never loved someone like I do I love you The world is yours if you love me too I love you
