Ben Mezrich has created his own highly addictive genre of nonfiction, chronicling the amazing stories of young geniuses making tons of money on the edge of impossibility, ethics, and morality.
He has authored eleven books, including the wildly successful "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions", which spent sixty-three weeks on the New York Times Best Seller List, and sold over 2 million copies in fifteen languages. His latest book, "The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, a Tale of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal" - debuted at #4 on the NY Times Bestseller list, instantly became an international phenomenon, and has been adapted into a major motion picture.
While writing these true stories, he has been afforded access to worlds seldom talked about. During his research for "Bringing Down the House," he taped $250,000 to his body and smuggled it through airport security with some of the most notorious card-counters in the world, getting to taste the lifestyle of the Las Vegas high roller upon arrival. While writing "Ugly Americans," he visited exclusive 'Japanese Only' underground sex clubs in Tokyo and juggled roadblocks and run-ins against the Japanese mafia.
Now, Mezrich is Hollywood's next big thing. "The Accidental Billionaires" has been adapted by Sony Pictures via Trigger Street Productions and Scott Rudin, with Aaron Sorkin as screenwriter. Kevin Spacey, Dana Brunetti and Mike Deluca produced along with Rudin. Kevin Spacey also produced and starred in the Sony production of Mezrich's NY Times Best Selling book, "Bringing Down the House," titled 21 (Spring '08), which was the number one movie in the country for two weeks, as well as a huge international hit. Both of Mezrich's other New York Times Bestsellers, "Ugly Americans" and "Rigged," have been optioned for the big screen, by 2929 and Summit respectively.
Mezrich has appeared often on TV, including a stint on Court TV with a series titled 'High Stakes with Ben Mezrich.' The show utilized his unique contacts to explore the culture of young, highly educated millionaires and their clandestine hobbies. Mezrich also hosted the 'World Series of Blackjack' for GSN and has several scripted and non-scripted TV projects in the works. BOOK DESCRIPTION
THE #1 NATIONAL BESTSELLER -- NOW THE MAJOR MOTION PICTURE 21
The long-running New York Times bestseller that has become a cultural phenomenon, Bringing Down the House is an action-filled caper carried out by the unlikeliest of cons -- supersmart geeks. Gambling pervaded the M.I.T. campus, and genius kids with money and glittering futures were just as likely to be found in a Paradise Island casino as in the school library. A highly elite group of mathletes was recruited to join The Club, a small, secret blackjack organization dedicated to counting cards and beating the major casinos across the nation at their own game. As a successful ring of card savants, backed by a mysterious ringleader and shadowy investors, they infiltrated Vegas and won millions.
The Boston Herald acclaimed it as "a suspenseful tale that portrays the players as Davids going up against Goliaths." Filled with tense action, high stakes, and incredibly close calls, Bringing Down the House is a nail-biting chronicle of a real-life Ocean's Eleven. It's one story that Vegas does not want you to know.

- Bringing Down the House
"Describes a collection of math whizzes from M.I.T. and their unique rise and fall of their blackjack team. For two years in the early '90s, the team reaped millions from casinos around the world by using their mathematics and card counting skills to change the odds of blackjack in their favor."
- Busting Vegas
"For nearly five years, he was known as the 'Darling Of Las Vegas'; the biggest high roller to hit Sin City in decades, a hotshot, twenty one year-old kid with a seemingly unlimited bankroll and an even more unlimited lust for big money action. His name was Semyon Dukatch, and stories swirled in his wake. Some said he was a Russian arms dealer, others a pop star from Eastern Europe. But the truth was even more unlikely: he was a twenty-one year old graduate student who had a plan that would one day make him richer than anyone could possibly imagine. The Darling of Las Vegas quickly became a legend in the casino world. He is the only person banned from the island of Aruba. He was held, at gunpoint, in a cave in Monte Carlo and told that if he ever returned, he'd be murdered. And he made millions of dollars playing blackjack."
