We are investigating the Iver Huitfeldt-class, one of the most advantageous and cost-effective Western surface combatants. #IverHuitfeldt #frigate #royaldanishnavy
Why has the Royal Danish Navy preferred a highly modular warship design?
What are the features of the Iver Huitfeldt-class?
Why has no other country been interested in the floating Lego concept until now?

The Royal Navies of Britain & Denmark Team-Up To For Type 31 Frigates!
The Royal Navies of Britain and Denmark will work side-by-side to bring the UK’s next generation of warships into service.
The two allies have agreed to work even closer together to maximise the construction, training, and finally, operational opportunities of the Type 31 frigate.
The Royal Navy has ordered five of the ships to replace veteran Type 23 frigates which perform general patrol duties around the world.
The design of the 31s – also known as the Inspiration class, as each ship takes its name from a vessel whose deeds are carved in naval history – is based on the Danish Navy’s Iver Huitfeldt-class, which have proven themselves around the globe over the past decade.
Given the Danes’ extensive experience in every aspect of building the ships, introducing them into front-line service...

Absalon class Frigate: "Command and Support" ships of the Royal Danish Navy
The Absalon class, consisting of the Absalon L16 and the Esbern Snare L17, are among the largest surface ships ever built for the Royal Danish Navy. The two ships were commissioned in 2004 and 2005, respectively, and are serving as flexible support ships. Some documents classify them as transport frigates while others consider them combat support ships. In the Royal Danish Navy, the Absalon class is classified as "Command and Support" ships.

Royal Danish Naval Academy X AH Riise
In 1701, the world's first "Naval Academy" was established in Copenhagen. The academy is today called the "Naval Officers' School" and is still a military unit, while the name “Sø-Cadet-Compagniet” (Naval Cadet Company) is now used by the Naval Cadet Association.
In 1838, AH Riise began producing rum for the Danish Navy, and when Danish Navy vessels called at Charlotte Amalie, it was therefore AH Riise who supplied the ships with rum. This was the launch point for AH Riise's famous Royal Danish Navy Rum.
AH Riise Rom and the cadets at the world's oldest naval officer school are now proud to jointly present NAVAL CADET 42% - a further development of the famous Royal Danish Navy Rum.

For The First Time Danish Navy Frigates Installed SM-2 Missiles!
The Royal Danish Navy fitted the Iver Huitfeldt-class frigate HDMS Niels Juel (F-363) with SM-2 Block 3A SAMs for the first time.
SM-2 missiles are taken aboard and installed on the frigate Niels Juel. The missiles will be included in weapon system and fire control testing on the Danish frigates.
Once the missile system is finally approved, it can be part of the area air defense, where the ship can protect not only itself but also other units from attacks by aircraft and missiles.
Installation of the missiles and final approval of all Iver Huitfeldt-class frigates to use the missile, as well as crew training, will begin as well. This will make the SM-2 system fully operational.
