Oh yeah, it’s Qvevri again! Amazing natural amber wine from Rkatsiteli grape varietal. This is the most popular white grape in Georgia! And it is perfect for Qvevri wines!
💰You can buy this wine online here
https://www.qvevriwinegeorgia.com/product-page/rkatsiteli-qvevri-amber-dry-wine
Online shop and delivery in California.
Winemakers in Georgia are using the traditional Qvevri method following the same basic process and principles Georgians developed 8,000 years ago—skins and stems in the vat, natural yeasts, and natural tannins. Qvevri, a large clay vessel, would be buried under the ground for up to 6 months to help regulate the temperature of the wine during fermentation.
This wine from Rkatsiteli grapes is vinified by the traditional Qvevri method, fermentation driven by authentic wild yeast, no additives used. Matured in Qvevri with long skin and stem maceration for 6 months, aged in oak barrels for 12 months.
This remarkable amber color wine displays power and elegance sourced from the rich velvety tannic structure. It is massively ripe yet dry wine packed with dried fruits and sun-dried field flower notes. Paired well with grilled meat, Georgian artisan cheesy bread, sheep cheese, and walnut sauce dressing salads.
Served at 68-71°F, decant before serving for about 20-30 minutes.
Qvevri Wine Georgia is an exclusive importer and distributor of the rare wines of the country of Georgia. Our company's goal is to deliver you authentic wine from Georgia. We work exclusively with family-owned wineries that own their vineyards and quality control their wine from idea to exhibition. Our wineries put their family names on the labels of their bottles and present their wine with honor
The history of wine starts in Georgia
Georgia is one of the most ancient countries in the world with an uninterrupted tradition of viticulture and winemaking. In fact, cultivated grape pips were discovered and that indicates that Georgia has been making wine for some 8000 years, leading experts to believe that Georgia is the birthplace of wine.
Konch&Co wines
The history of the Konchoshvili wine cellar dates back to 1737. The word “Koncho” in Old Georgian means “a cross” and is the stem of the word denoting the Konchoshvili family name.
Koncho & Co owns the best vineyards in the classic / traditional microzones of Kindzmarauli and Kvareli viticulture. The soil is very rich in black shale, with a high concentration of carbonates below the depth of 8-10m from the earth’s surface.

Some information on a widely planted yet relatively little known and appreciated grape with a hard to say name.
Here are some videos with dueling pronunciations. To Debra Meiburg's position most fairly, she defends her pronunciation on the grounds that it’s easier for the Chinese audience she’s trying to reach, which strikes me as a very reasonable explanation; so, this may be a non-controversy that just needed to be contextualized more clearly:
