The Tragic And Incredible Life Of The Last Stuart Monarch | Queen Anne of Great Britain - PART 3
Queen Anne has been mostly pushed to one side in history, seen as a weak woman overwhelmed by tragedy and manipulated by her favourites. But the truth is Queen Anne was a stubborn, strong woman who bore the loss of her many children and husband with dignity, and sought to find the balance between her own opinion, and the right thing to do. This video follows the years when Anne became queen, leading her kingdoms through war into peace, joining them in a lasting union, and creating a stable beginning for the 18th century.

The Favourite Butchers the True Story of Queen Anne
The Oscar-winning movie is compared to The Favourite true story as we analyze the facts vs. fiction in the film. Find out if Queen Anne really kept 17 bunnies in her bedchamber and whether the costumes seen in the movie are accurate to the period. We also explore whether the love triangle is historically accurate. The episode is largely drawn from our History vs. Hollywood article that fact checks The Favourite, which can be read here: http://www.historyvshollywood.com/reelfaces/the-favourite/

ANNE, QUEEN of GREAT BRITAIN - WikiVidi Documentary
Anne became Queen of England, Scotland and Ireland on 8 March 1702. On 1 May 1707, under the Acts of Union, two of her realms, the kingdoms of England and Scotland, united as a single sovereign state known as Great Britain. She continued to reign as Queen of Great Britain and Ireland until her death. Anne was born in the reign of her uncle Charles II, who had no legitimate children. Her father, James, was thus heir presumptive to the throne. His suspected Roman Catholicism was unpopular in England, and on Charles's instructions Anne and her elder sister, Mary, were raised as Anglicans. Three years after he succeeded Charles, James was deposed in the Glorious Revolution of 1688. Anne's sister and Dutch Protestant brother-in-law and cousin William III of Orange became joint monarchs. This video looks at the years when William III and Mary II, Anne's elder sister, jointly took the thrones of England and Scotland, and the irreparable divide that grew between the two sisters. We also see how Anne and George's hopes were raised with the birth of their surviving son, William, Duke of Gloucester, and how the hopes of an entire nation were dashed with his death...

Although the sisters had been close, disagreements over Anne's finances, status and choice of acquaintances arose shortly after Mary's accession and they became estranged. William and Mary had no children....
