Speaker berates Kemi Badenoch over bypassing informing MPs about EU law U-turn
The speaker of the House of Commons Sir Lindsey Hoyle lost his temper with Kemi Badenoch when the secretary of state failed to inform the house of the government's U-turn on repealing retained EU laws.

The government has decided to U-turn on plans to allow thousands of EU-inherited laws to expire by the end of the year, news that Badenoch released in a statement and to The Telegraph before making a statement in the House of Commons.
The business and trade secretary said she was sorry that the sequencing was not to the speaker's satisfaction, infuriating Hoyle further.

Speaker suspends House of Commons for an hour after Penny Mordaunt fails to attend
The Speaker has suspended Thursday’s sitting of the House of Commons after a member the government failed to turn up to answer questions on time.
Penny Mordaunt, the leader of the House, had been due to be quizzed by MPs on parliamentary business this morning.
However, ahead of the session she confirmed she would be around an hour late.
As Ms Mordaunt has no deputy to take her place, the Speaker said the business would be put back by an hour – a highly unusual occurrence. He did not relay a reason for Ms Mordaunt’s delayed arrival.

Penny Mordaunt mocks criticism of her work ethic as she returns to the Commons
Penny Mordaunt took aim at her ministerial boss by joking she was “amazed” to be back at the Commons despatch box given her “reported work ethic” — while standing next to her.
Supporters of the trade minister also lavished praise on her as she returned to her frontbench duties in the House after being knocked out of the Conservative Party leadership race.
Her comments came after International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan criticised Ms Mordaunt during the contest, saying: “There have been a number of times when she hasn’t been available, which would have been useful, and other ministers have picked up the pieces.”

Opioid crisis: Fiery debate erupts in House of Commons over Liberals' safe supply policy
During Tuesday's question period in the House of Commons, Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre sharply criticized the Liberal's safe supply policy intended to address the opioid crisis, saying his political opponents have "no common sense."
The leader of the Official Opposition referenced a Global News story that found the federal government's safe supply is making its way to the streets.
In a passionate retort, Canada's Mental Health and Addictions Minister Carolyn Bennett told Poilievre her party's safe supply technique is backed by science and saves lives, so people could be alive long enough to seek help for their addiction.

Chaos erupts in House of Commons as Trudeau, Poilievre exchange personal attacks
Question period took place once again on Wednesday in the House of Commons, where Conservative Party of Canada leader Pierre Poilievre and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took up much of the hour exchanging and disagreeing on the topic of foreign election interference and how to approach it.
But that didn't last long before both leaders went at one another in a series of personal attacks. First, Poilievre made reference to Trudeau's background as a high school teacher, promoting the Canadian Prime Minister to ask what job Poilevre held before entering politics.
Poilevre and Trudeau also accused one another of being conceited, with the Conservative leader saying if Trudeau were made of chocolate, "he would eat himself!"

Shadow Commons leader calls Boris Johnson 'liar' as Partygate report finds he misled MPs
MPs are expected to have a free vote on whether to approve a report which found Boris Johnson committed "repeated contempts" of Parliament over lockdown parties at No 10.
Shadow Leader of the House, Labour's Thangam Debbonaire, referred on Thursday, 15 June, to the former prime minister as “a lawbreaker and a liar" in Parliament without the intervention of the Speaker.
The committee says it would have recommended suspending Mr Johnson from the House for 90 days if he had not quit as an MP.

Speaker of the House Anthony Rota, on several occasions, attempted to calm the crowd, but seemingly, to no avail.
Even the Leader of the Bloc Québécois, Yves-François Blanchet, stepped in to add his own two cents.
