Russian President Vladimr Putin's biggest mistake was his military cooperation with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un.
Vladimr Putin first thought that this partnership would help him and the war in Ukraine.
At first, Putin tried to conceal this supply of troops.
For this reason, it was claimed that these soldiers, arriving on ships from the Pacific Fleet, were brought from the autonomous regions of Russia.
But the truth soon emerged.
More than ten thousand North Korean soldiers had officially started fighting for Russia in Kursk.
This was a critical period for Putin to understand why the use of North Korean troops in Kursk was seriously damaging his partnership with Jong Un.
It was during this period that North Korean soldiers were unable to communicate adequately with Russian forces on the battlefield due to language differences.
It was even revealed that North Korean soldiers fighting for Putin were even targeting Russian troops.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, eight Russian soldiers were eliminated by North Korean forces in a friendly fire incident in Kursk.
Undeterred by this tragic situation, Putin and Jong-Un continued to use North Koreans on the battlefield.
This time, however, the Ukrainians were targeting them.
Most recently, in Kursk, the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces eliminated 77 North Korean soldiers in one go alone.
Even these setbacks could not dissuade the Russian and North Korean leaders from their joint military alliance.
Putin and Jong-Un continued to use North Korean troops in Kursk.
But both leaders were shaken by the revelations of what had happened to the North Koreans on the battlefield and how many total casualties they had suffered.
The battle at Kursk showed Putin and Jong-Un the harsh realities in stark relief.

Today, there is interesting news from the Kursk direction.
Here, the Russian military, bolstered by North Korean forces, attempted a bold assault to eliminate a critical Ukrainian bridgehead east of the Psel River. This move set off a series of intense battles and revealed the lengths Russians would go to keep North Korean involvement a secret and take credit for their victories.
The Russian objective, supported by North Korean troops, in this sector of the Kursk salient, was clear: to neutralize the Ukrainian presence east of the Psel River, which posed a significant threat to their operations. This strategic move aims to neutralize a possible Ukrainian penetration toward Borki and potentially Giri, which Ukrainians have already reached once early in the Kursk offensive. Such a repeated advance would disrupt Russian operations across the Kursk salient, as it would force the redeployment of troops and resources to this sector, away from their efforts in the northwest.
The key position here was Plekhovo, which was defended only by a small Ukrainian contingent due to its location in the lowlands and the connected logistical disadvantages, being separated from the rest of the Kursk salient by the Psel River. Exploiting these vulnerabilities, North Korean troops advanced through minefields and reportedly achieved a breakthrough by seizing the village in a highly attritional operation lasting two hours. Geolocated footage from the region confirms the huge columns of North Korean troops advancing to achieve their first success in the area. Despite this, tensions quickly emerged as Russian forces started looking for a way to claim credit for the victory after initial reports suggested that Russian units only entered Plekhovo after the North Koreans had secured it.
In a brutal twist, reports from Ukrainian intelligence and President Volodymyr Zelensky indicate that Russian forces started to burn the faces of deceased North Korean soldiers to conceal their identities. This grisly act, confirmed by drone footage, underscores Russia’s effort to obscure the presence of foreign troops on its soil and avoid acknowledging its reliance on North Korean forces to reclaim its own territory. Additionally, Ukrainian officials have alleged that North Korean soldiers are being disguised as Russian personnel, highlighting the Kremlin’s desperate attempts to maintain the facade of self-sufficiency.
Following the capture of Plekhovo, Russian forces sought to capitalize on their momentum, and achieve a propaganda victory by advancing toward Oleksandriya and into Ukrainian territory, as Russian state TV was quick to claim a success. Unfortunately for Russians, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces thwarted this attempt with precision strikes from drones and ambush tactics, forcing the Russian saboteurs to retreat to their own territory, however Ukrainian units decided this was not enough. They pursued those that went past the border and eliminated both them and the remaining enemy forces, dealing a quick blow to Russian aspirations of further gains and spoiling the desired propaganda effect.
Undeterred, Russian commanders decided to once again rely on North Korean troops, this time deploying them in a high-risk river crossing assault on Kurilovka. Lacking the tactical advantages present at Plekhovo, and forced to storm without cover, the North Korean forces were decimated by Ukrainian drone operators while still trying to cross the river. The aftermath of the failed assault left the water littered with the bodies of North Korean soldiers, marking another devastating failure for them in the region.
Overall, Russia’s continuing reliance on North Korean troops highlights a pattern of attritional and questionable tactics. Despite their initial success near Plekhovo, the North Koreans have suffered staggering losses, with Ukrainian intelligence estimating over 220 casualties in just a few days of combat. These heavy losses, combined with Russia’s efforts to conceal their presence, paint a grim picture of the exploitation of the North Korean fighters in the war. The Kremlin’s reliance on North Korean troops underscores the challenges it faces in sustaining its operations. While these troops provide numerical support, their lack of combat experience and the brutal treatment they receive from their Russian counterparts limit their effectiveness. Ultimately, the deployment of North Korean forces serves as a desperate attempt to bolster Russia’s faltering campaign in Kursk while exposing the depths of its logistical and strategic vulnerabilities.

North Korea remains a mystery to the outside world, with much of what we know coming from defectors who endured great hardship. One common story is of mandatory military service under Kim Jong-Un's regime. For women, this experience is particularly challenging, shaped by societal pressures, harsh conditions, and often unspoken systemic abuse.

North Korean Soldiers Who Did Not Want To Fight For Russia Have Joined The Side Of Ukraine!

Hello ANKA DALIY NEWS viewers, we are here with a remarkable development regarding the increasingly complex dynamics of war. Today, the balances in conflict zones are not limited to the parties to the conflict; unexpected elements can profoundly affect international relations and military strategies. Recent news reports indicate that troops from a country not directly involved in the war are moving towards Ukraine. While this situation has caused widespread repercussions in the world public opinion, it leaves many questions in mind. Who are these soldiers, why are they involved in this war and what is the extent of their role on the ground? Moreover, how will this development affect the course of the war in Ukraine?
The presence of these troops is a factor that could affect the current balance of power on the ground. However, according to reports, their combat experience, equipment and motivation levels raise questions about their ability to be an effective military force. Lack of training, lack of modern equipment and low morale are among the factors that severely limit the performance of these soldiers. Nevertheless, information from the field suggests that they are not merely playing a passive role, but are exhibiting extraordinary behavior that can influence the situation on the ground.
Particularly noteworthy are allegations that some of these soldiers have unexpectedly switched sides. Reports from the field suggest that some soldiers have been influenced by previous events. The reasons behind these individual or collective behaviors are intriguing. Past traumas, ideological leanings or logistical difficulties are among the reasons for these sudden changes of heart. This situation reveals once again that war should not only be associated with its military dimension, but also with human psychology and motivational factors.

Illustrations of hell: Haunting sketches show horrors of North Korean prison camps
Subscribe to ITN News: http://bit.ly/1bmWO8h
Illustrated messages of misery by a man who survived more than two years in a North Korean prison camp show the unimaginable horrors prisoners are put through. North Korean defector Kim Kwang-il, who was jailed for travelling to China to sell pine mushrooms, submitted the disturbing illustrations - depicting torture, abuse and starvation. The sketches shed more light on what life is like inside North Korea. This image shows prisoners being forced to stand in stress positions - which they describe as 'pigeon torture'. The prisoners are made to stand in the stress position for three days straight - enduring agonising pain. A drawing of a prison guard kicking a man into a small cupboard illustrates how prisoners are forced to live in confined space...

Behind bars in Russia is no fun - in our Documentary about Russia's toughest prison we show why! Terrorists, gunmen and mafia bosses are serving their life sentences in the Russian penal camp "Vologodski Pjatak". The fortress on the island of Ognenny was built as a monastery in the 16th century. Later the "Fire Island" was converted into a gulag for enemies of the state after the October Revolution of 1917. Since 1994 it is a maximum security prison for serious criminals. Christoph Wanner is the first western TV reporter to manage to shoot behind the prison walls on the island of the damned.

Harsh Truths About Federal Prison Camps
As someone who has been to federal prison, I can tell you that there are some harsh truths that you need to be aware of if you find yourself facing time behind bars.
Here are potential realities you may face:
The highest value in prison can be boredom, not violence. Too many people assume that a federal prison camp is a dangerous place filled with violent people, but the truth is that boredom can be a much greater challenge. Prisoners spend most of their days in confined spaces with little to do. Recognizing opportunities to learn new skills or engage in positive activities can make a huge difference in your experience.
Prison can be a hopeless environment, sucked into a vortex of negativity. It's easy to fall into despair when you're stuck in a place that seems designed to strip away ...

A drawing of a prison guard kicking a man into a small cupboard illustrates how prisoners are forced to live in confined spaces. Another constant for many North Koreans is the threat of starvation. To survive, hungry prisoners resort to eating mice and snakes. The corpses of prisoners are typically eaten by mice or sent to the crematorium by other starving prisoners. The sketches are part of a new, damning UN report that directly accuses leader Kim Jong-un of committing crimes against humanity, reminiscent of Nazi Germany. The 400-page report calls for Kim to face charges in the International Criminal Court - including the extermination, starvation and enslavement of the country's population. Report by Claire Lomas.

It's easy to fall into despair when you're stuck in a place that seems designed to strip away your humanity. You must commit to doing your own thing and avoiding those that suck the life out of you. As described in Lessons From Prison, you must learn what you can and cannot control.
Most prisoners may have had it worse than you. Focusing on your own struggles and hardships in prison is tempting, but keeping perspective is important. Many of your fellow prisoners have experienced extreme trauma and hardship and are still finding ways to cope and move forward. Rather than complaining or feeling sorry for yourself, try to be a positive force for change and support in your community.
The most important thing to remember is that your time in prison will eventually end. The question is, will you be ready for life after prison?

After a multi-national inquiry...
a UN investigative committee issued its report... on the dire human rights situation in North Korea.
Our Eoh Jin-joo has more on how the high-profile team says the violations deserve criminal investigation.
"In prison camps, they carry out public executions two times a year."
After a year-long investigation, the United Nations has concluded that there have been "systematic, widespread and grave" violations of human rights in North Korea.
In a detailed report released Monday,... the UN Commission of Inquiry on human rights in North Korea defined the abuses... as "crimes against humanity", which means that most of them were based on policies and decisions made by the North Korean regime in an effort to maintain a grip on power.
The crimes are spread over nine areas: violations of freedom of expression, ideology and religion,... discrimination based on origin,... violations of the right to movement,... violations of the right to food, which then leads to issues regarding the right to life,... arbitrary detention, torture, execution and violations associated to prison camps,... and abductions of foreigners.
The 372-page report emphasized the need to hold government institutions, including North Korea's state security department and even the "supreme leader" himself, responsible for the crimes, and called for fundamental changes within the country to enhance human rights conditions.
In particular, the UN commission said... the international community has the responsibility to protect North Koreans by applying the so-called "Responsibility to Protect" status to the communist state.
The report then urged the international community and the UN to refer the human rights violations in North Korea to the UN Security Council, which could pave the way for criminal prosecution of the North Korean regime at an international court.
It also called for stronger and continued UN efforts to enhance the human rights situation in the North, such as setting up an organization that could be in charge of follow-up measures to the investigation.
The UN commission of inquiry is expected to report its results at a general meeting of the UN Commission on Human Rights on March 17th, and adopt a resolution on North Korean human rights later that month.
