According to the 1992 constitution, the Prime Minister of Angola was a high government official in Angola, but with limited powers as head of government.
Along with the rest of the Council of Ministers, the Prime Minister was appointed by the President. The position was originally created when Angola achieved independence from Portugal on 11 November 1975, but was abolished in 1978 when President Agostinho Neto consolidated his power. There was no Prime Minister until 1991, when President José Eduardo dos Santos reinstated the position following a peace agreement with the opposition party. The post was also vacant between 1999 and 2002.
The post was again abolished due to the 2010 Constitution of Angola, which integrates the functions of the prime minister into the office of the president, who is not subjected to the confidence of the parliamentary majority, contrarily to the prime minister.
The President of the Government of Spain (Spanish:Presidente del Gobierno), formally known by English-speaking nations and formally translated by the European Commission Directorate-General in English as Prime Minister is the head of Government of Spain. The current office is established under the Constitution of 1978.
The King of Spain nominates a candidate for the presidency who stands before the Congress of Deputies of Spain, the lower house of the Cortes Generales (parliament), for a vote of confidence in a process known as a parliamentarian investiture, effectively an indirect election of the head of government by the elected Congress of Deputies. In practice, the Prime Minister is almost always the leader of the largest party in the Congress. Since current constitutional practice in Spain calls for the King to act on the advice of his ministers, the Prime Minister is effectively the country's chief executive.
Angola (/ænˈɡoʊ.lə/) is a city mentioned in the Book of Mormon. It was located near or in the north countries and was the site of a portion of the long and final battle between the Nephites and the Lamanites.
The city is identified in only one verse, Mormon2:4. The Nephites retreated towards the north countries and came to Angola and fortified the city during the period of A.C. 327–328, but were unable to withstand the Lamanites' attacks and were driven from the city.Mormon2:5 might be interpreted in such a way as to suggest that Angola was located somewhere in the land of David.
It has been argued that Joseph Smith named the Book of Mormon city after Angola, New York.Mormon apologists have pointed out that while the Book of Mormon was first published in 1830, the New York settlement did not adopt the name "Angola" until 1855.
According to the 2010 census, Angola has a total area of 6.387 square miles (16.54km2), of which 6.34 square miles (16.42km2) (or 99.26%) is land and 0.047 square miles (0.12km2) (or 0.74%) is water.
Climate
The National Weather Service reports that Angola's average January temperatures are a maximum of 28.8°F (−1.8°C) and a minimum of 13.7°F (−10.2°C). Average July temperatures are a maximum of 82.0°F (27.8°C) and a minimum of 60.4°F (15.8°C). There are an average of 7.5 days with highs of 90°F (32°C) or higher. There an average of 28.1 days with highs of 32°F (0°C) or lower and an average of 2.3 days with lows of 0°F (−18°C) or lower. The record high temperature was 106°F (41°C) on July 13, 1936. The record low temperature was −27°F (−33°C) on January 4, 1981.
1712 Angola, provisional designation 1935 KC, is a dark asteroid from the outer main-belt, discovered by English-born South African astronomer Cyril Jackson at Johannesburg Observatory on May 28, 1935. The asteroid measures about 60 kilometers in diameter. Its orbit is tilted by more than 19 degrees towards the ecliptic plane.
The C-type asteroid orbits the Sun at a distance of 2.7–3.6AU once every 5 years and 8 months (2,059 days). It has a rotation period of 11.53 hours and an albedo in the range of 0.03–0.05, according to the IRAS, Akari, WISE and NEOWISE surveys.
It is named after Angola, the state on the southwestern coast of Africa.
