David John Mellor QC (born 12 March 1949) is a former British politician, non-practising barrister, broadcaster, journalist and businessman. As a member of the Conservative Party, he served in the Cabinet of Prime Minister John Major as Chief Secretary to the Treasury (1990–92) and Secretary of State for National Heritage (April–September 1992), before resigning in 1992. He was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Putney from 1979 to 1997.
Since leaving Parliament, Mellor has worked as a newspaper columnist, a radio presenter,after-dinner speaker, served as Chairman of the government's 'Football Task Force', and established a successful career as an international business consultant and entrepreneur.
Born in Wareham, Dorset, Mellor was educated at Swanage Grammar School, and Christ's College, Cambridge, where he was Chairman of the Cambridge University Conservative Association and a contestant on University Challenge. After briefly working for Jeffrey Archer (then a Member of Parliament (MP)) while studying for his bar exams, Mellor became a barrister in 1972 and Queens Counsel in 1987. He has not practised since being elected as an MP and remains "non practising".
David Rogerson Mellor,CBE, FCSD, RDI (5 October 1930 – 7 May 2009) was an English designer, manufacturer, craftsman and retailer.
Regarded as one of the best-known designers in Britain, Mellor specialised in metalwork and especially cutlery, to such an extent that he was often referred to as "the cutlery king". He also produced many other designs throughout his career, including the designs for bus shelters and the traffic light system in use across the UK. Sir Terence Conran has described him as 'Britain's greatest post-war product designer'.
Mellor was born in Ecclesall, Sheffield, where his father was a toolmaker for the Sheffield Twist Drill Company. From the age of eleven, Mellor attended the Junior Art Department of Sheffield College of Art, receiving an intensive training in craft skills. He made his first piece of metalwork – a sweet dish – at this early age.
He studied at the Royal College of Art in London from 1950. Mellor's first cutlery, "Pride", designed while he was still a student, is still in production and included in many international collections. Mellor also studied at the British School at Rome.
David Anthony Mellor is an English semi-professional footballer who plays for Barrow.
Mellor joined Oldham Athletic as sixteen-year-old from Manchester United. However, Mellor suffered a knee injury, but was given a full time two-year scholarships, having initially joined the club on a non-contract basis. After spending time in Oldham's youth team he made his competitive debut during the second match of the 2011–12 season, as a substitute in a Football League Cup match against Carlisle United. He scored sixteen minutes into his Football League debut on 16 August in a match against Scunthorpe.
On 28 August 2011 The People reported that Premier League Fulham manager Martin Jol was preparing a bid for teenager Mellor after scouts were impressed with his strength and maturity. Nothing came of this report however, and he remained at Oldham by signing his first professional contract with the club, keeping him until 2013. In October 2011, Oldham Athletic rejected a bid for Mellor from an un-named club, which the club's captain Dean Furman was urgent for Mellor to stay at the club. However, Mellor's form at Oldham Athletic soon slumped because of family reasons and his own injury concern, though Mellor made his return to the first team against Carlisle United on the final game of the season. Despite the issues, Mellor made 21 appearances at the end of the season.
Pocket Money is a 1972 film directed by Stuart Rosenberg, from a screenplay written by Terrence Malick and based on the novel Jim Kane (1970) by J.P.S. Brown. The movie stars Paul Newman and Lee Marvin and takes place in 1970s Arizona and northern Mexico.
The song "Pocket Money" is composed and performed by Carole King. Portions of the film were shot at Southwestern Studios in Carefree, Arizona, a facility originally built by cast member Fred Graham.

Russell tells Kane to escort 200 head of cattle from Mexico to the United States for a good sum of money. Kane agrees and brings along his friend Leonard (Marvin) to aid him. Unfortunately, the two come upon many unexpected events that often deter them from completing their job.

David Mellor (born 1949) is a British former politician, broadcaster and football pundit.
David Mellor may also refer to:
David (Bulgarian: Давид) (died 976) was a Bulgarian noble, brother of Emperor Samuel and eldest son of komes Nicholas. After the disastrous invasion of Rus' armies and the fall of North-eastern Bulgaria under Byzantine occupation in 971, he and his three younger brothers took the lead of the defence of the country. They executed their power together and each of them governed and defended a separate region. He ruled the southern-most parts of the realm from Prespa and Kastoria and was responsible for the defence the dangerous borders with Thessalonica and Thessaly. In 976 he participated in the major assault against the Byzantine Empire but was killed by vagrant Vlachs between Prespa and Kostur.
However, there's also another version about David’s origin. David gains the title "comes" during his service in the Byzantine army which recruited many Armenians from the Eastern region of the empire. The 11th-century historian Stepanos Asoghik wrote that Samuel had one brother, and they were Armenians from the district Derjan. This version is supported by the historians Nicholas Adontz, Jordan Ivanov, and Samuil's Inscription where it’s said that Samuel’s brother is David. Also, the historians Yahya and Al Makin clearly distinguish the race of Samuel and David (the Comitopouli) from the one of Moses and Aaron (the royal race):
David (Spanish pronunciation: [daˈβið]) officially San José de David is a city and corregimiento located in the west of Panama. It is the capital of the province of Chiriquí and has an estimated population of 144,858 inhabitants as confirmed in 2013. It is a relatively affluent city with a firmly established, dominant middle class and a very low unemployment and poverty index. The Pan-American Highway is a popular route to David.
The development of the banking sector, public construction works such as the expansion of the airport and the David-Boquete highway alongside the growth of commercial activity in the city have increased its prominence as one of the fastest growing regions in the country. The city is currently the economic center of the Chiriqui province and produces more than half the gross domestic product of the province, which totals 2.1 billion. It is known for being the third-largest city in the country both in population and by GDP and for being the largest city in Western Panama.

No friends, no dreams, no pocket money
There's a wall around my body, a fence around my kind
Nothing comes to me easily not leastwise peace of mind
Still, I keep movin' tryin' to break on through
I don't know nothin' else to do
Peelin' paint above my head is just another sign
Black clouds in the distance gettin' closer all the time
I just gotta keep movin' tryin' to break on through
I don't know nothin' else to do
Sometimes when I think that things
Are bad as they can be
I see a fella standing
Lower down on the ladder than me
Now I'm alive and kickin'
Dust behind my heel
Long as I got my soul
I'm on the good end of the deal
And I'm gonna keep movin'
Tryin' to break on through
I don't know nothin' else to do
I gotta keep movin'
No friends, no dreams
No pocket money
So I'm gonna keep movin'
