Play It Again, Sam is a 1969 Broadway play written by and starring Woody Allen. A substantial hit, it ran for more than a year and helped build Allen's reputation as a performer who could portray a comedic romantic lead as well as the neurotic persona for which he was best known at the time. The play became the basis for a 1972 film of the same name, starring Allen and directed by Herbert Ross.
Plot
The play is about a recently divorced film magazine writer, Allan Felix, who is trying to restart his romantic life. Eventually he falls in love (and has a brief affair) with Linda, the wife of his best friend, Dick. During the course of the play, he repeatedly seeks advice from the ghost of his idol, Humphrey Bogart, but eventually decides that he needs to be himself rather than imitating Bogart. Telling Linda that the right thing for her to do is to return to her husband, Felix quotes the famous lines that Bogart delivers to Ingrid Bergman in the last scene of Casablanca.
"Play it again, Sam" is originally either a misquotation of Rick Blaine's (played by Humphrey Bogart) exclamation to Sam (played by Dooley Wilson): "Play it!" from the 1942 film Casablanca, or an in-character impression of something he may have said to his pianist, Sam, some time after the end of the movie.
Play It Again, Sam is a 1972 film written by and starring Woody Allen, based on his 1969 Broadway play. The film was directed by Herbert Ross, which is unusual for Allen, who usually directs his own written work.
The film is about a recently divorced writer of film commentary, Allan Felix, being urged to begin dating again by his best friend and his best friend's wife. Allan identifies with the movie Casablanca and the character Rick Blaine as played by Humphrey Bogart. The film is liberally sprinkled with clips from the movie and ghost-like appearances of Bogart (Jerry Lacy) giving advice on how to treat women.
Plot
Set in San Francisco, the film begins with the closing scenes of Casablanca, with Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman. We then see that the main character, Allan Felix (Woody Allen), is watching the film in a cinema, mouth agape. He leaves the cinema regretting that he will never be like Rick.
Apart from apparitions of Bogart he also has frequent flashbacks of conversations with his ex-wife, who constantly mocked his sexual inadequacy.

Juinor Jack - Da Hype (Original Club Mix) [PIAS Recordings]
This time around in our series we bring another selection from Jonathan Santarelli.
"Da Hype" first appeared in Junior Jacks 2004 debut album "Trust It". The track is an ode to the kind of italo disco records where it sampled its main hook, which was taken from Bobby Orlando's 1982 single "Im so hot for you".
The song was later released as a maxi single with a vocal version featuring Robert Smith of The Cure. Soon after its release the track reached number one on the Billboard US Dance Charts July of 2004.
"At the time I was looking for a song that could really bring the energy to a mix I was working on and came across Juinor Jack & Kid Creme’s Essential Mix. From there it made me go out and buy the album. Soon after that I throw in “Da Hype” and the album title track “Trust It” and e...
