Native American Heritage: The Story of the Seneca Indians
The Seneca Indians, alternatively known as the Seneca people or the Seneca Nation, constituted a Native American group and were among the founding nations of the Iroquois Confederacy, also recognized as the Haudenosaunee or Six Nations Confederacy. The other integral members of this confederacy include The Oneida, The Onondaga, The Mohawk, The Cayuga, and The Tuscarora.
The formation of this confederacy took place around the 15th century and was distinguished for its democratic governance structure and the 'Great Law of Peace,' which served as its constitution.
Within the Six Nations Confederacy, the Seneca held the distinction of being the largest group. Originally, their ancestral lands were situated in Western New York State, explicitly encompassing the Finger Lakes region and the Gen...

History of the Seneca tribe, Native Americans
The Seneca (ˈsɛnɪkə/ SEN-ik-ə;Seneca: Onödowáʼga:, lit. 'Great Hill People') are a group of Indigenous Iroquoian-speaking people who historically lived south of Lake Ontario, one of the five Great Lakes in North America. Their nation was the farthest to the west within the Six Nations or Iroquois League (Haudenosaunee) in New York before the American Revolution. For this reason, they are called “The Keepers of the Western Door.”

Seneca: People who are afraid of death are like helpless slaves
Seneca: People who are afraid of death are like helpless slaves
Death seems like a terrifying and dreadful specter when we imagine it. The perception of death is often considered bad, accompanied by a feeling of fear within us when we think about it. One of the Stoic philosophers, Seneca, mentioned that "death too has a bad reputation." We tend not to acknowledge death because of our fear, and we often ignore it, burying it so deep that it never surfaces. Yet, death is something certain for every living being. Perhaps our instinct as living creatures makes us view death as something dangerous and a threat, causing us to act spontaneously to protect ourselves from it. But according to Seneca, "what is bad is not death, but the way people view death," so we can conclude that whether "death"...
