Sydney John "Syd" Chaplin (16 March 1885 — 16 April 1965) was an English actor. He was the elder half-brother of SirCharlie Chaplin and served as his business manager, and a half-uncle of the actor Sydney Chaplin (1926–2009), who was named after him.
Early life
Chaplin was born as Sydney John Hill, to 19-year-old Hannah Hill in London. Hannah claimed Sydney's father was a man named Sydney Hawkes, but his father's identity was never verified. He began using the Chaplin surname following his mother's marriage to Charles Chaplin, Sr., a year after his birth. While Syd and brother Charlie were in the Cuckoo Schools in Hanwell following his mother's mental collapse, Syd was placed in the programme designed to train young boys to become seamen, on the Exmouth training ship docked at Grays, Essex. He followed this training period with several years working on ships, receiving high marks from all of his employers. But his ambition was to get into the entertainment business and he left his final voyage with that in mind.
Sydney Earl Chaplin (March 30, 1926 – March 3, 2009) was an American actor.
Biography
Chaplin was born five weeks prematurely. He was the second son of actors Charlie Chaplin and Lita Grey. The two had married in November 1924 when she became pregnant with Sydney's elder brother Charles, who was born 10 months before him in May 1925. The two also later had eight half-siblings from their father's fourth marriage to Oona O'Neill as well as a deceased half-brother Norman (from their father's first marriage). His parents divorced a year after his birth.
On the Town is a musical with music by Leonard Bernstein and book and lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, based on Jerome Robbins' idea for his 1944 ballet Fancy Free, which he had set to Bernstein's music. The musical introduced several popular and classic songs, among them "New York, New York", "Lonely Town", "I Can Cook, Too" (for which Bernstein also wrote the lyrics), and "Some Other Time". The story concerns three American sailors on a 24-hour shore leave in New York City during wartime 1944. Each of the three sailors meets and quickly connects with a woman.
On the Town was first produced on Broadway in 1944 and was made into a film in 1949, although the film replaced all but three of the original Broadway songs with Hollywood-written substitutes. The show has enjoyed a number of major revivals. The musical integrates dance into its storytelling: Robbins made a number of ballets and extended dance sequences for the show, including the "Imaginary Coney Island" ballet.
The Sydney area has been inhabited by indigenous Australians since the Upper Paleolithic period. The first British settlers arrived in 1788 to found Sydney as a penal colony, the first European settlement in Australia. Since convict transportation ended in the mid-19th century, the city has transformed from a colonial outpost into a major global cultural and economic centre.
The population of Sydney at the time of the 2011 census was 4.39 million, 1.5 million of which were born overseas, representing many different nationalities and making Sydney one of the most multicultural cities in the world. There are more than 250 different languages spoken in Sydney and about one-third of residents speak a language other than English at home.
The domain name was originally allocated by Jon Postel, operator of IANA to Kevin Robert Elz of Melbourne University in 1986. After an approximately five-year process in the 1990s, the Internet industry created a self-regulatory body called .au Domain Administration to operate the domain. It obtained assent from ICANN in 2001, and commenced operating a new competitive regime for domain registration on 1 July 2002. Since this new regime, any registration has to be ordered via a registrar.
Operation
Oversight of .au is by .au Domain Administration (auDA). It is a not-for-profit organisation whose membership is derived from Internet organisations, industry members and interested individuals. The organisation operates under the consent of the Australian government which has legislative power to decide the operators of electronic addressing in the country.
Policy for .au is devised by policy development panels. These panels are convened by auDA and combine public input with industry representation to derive policy.
Sydney Kells (Valerie Bertinelli), the daughter of a now-deceased policeman, brings her New York City detective agency (in which she is the only investigator) back to her hometown and her family, including her over-protective brother Billy (Matthew Perry), himself a rookie cop. As she struggles to balance her personal and professional life, the main source of her work comes from an uptight lawyer (Craig Bierko), with whom she shares sexual chemistry. She and her best friend Jill (Rebeccah Bush) frequent a neighborhood bar run by Ray (Barney Martin), her father's old police partner.

Charlie Chaplin’s Son Confesses the Hard Truth About His Father
Do you enjoy silent films? Who’s your favorite silent star? Charlie Chaplin was one of the few who managed to last into and past the “talkie” era. His name is known throughout the world even today.
He’s well-known but in a different way than most. It’s like he was always wearing a mask and the world rarely saw behind it.

His characters were his mask. They presented him as a hilarious comedic genius. His other face was the one that made him as infamous as he was famous. He rarely took time away from his work to show it, but the ones closest to him saw it.
Charlie was known for being a ladies' man and rumors of his sexual exploits spread. He also tended to have an eye for much younger women. Several of his brides were teenagers, and he only married some of them because they got pregnant. Co-stars reported that he was a control freak who had to manage every little detail on stage. He couldn’t seem to get over that when he was at home. Many of his wives reported that he was cruel to them.
He also had many children. They provide the final piece of the puzzle. What do they think of their father? What do they remember of the few moments they got to spend with him? At least one of them is willing to speak out. He may be the one who got to spend the most personal time with him. They weren’t always close, but he got to see behind the mask for a better picture of who Charlie really was.
