Okapi Wildlife Reserve
The Okapi Wildlife Reserve is a World Heritage Site in the Ituri Forest in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, near the borders with Sudan and Uganda. At approximately 14,000 km², it covers approximately one fifth of the area of the forest.
Location
The Nepoko, Ituri and Epulu rivers flow through the reserve. The imposing Mbiya Mountain overlooks the Epulu village. The reserve is home to about 5,000 okapi, 4,000 elephants, 2,000 leopards, chimpanzees and crocodiles. Other Ituri rain forest animals include forest buffalo, water chevrotain, and forest elephants. The reserve has over 300 species of bird, and is one of the most important sites for bird conservation in mainland Africa. Nomadic Mbuti pygmies and indigenous Bantu farmers also live within the reserve.
History
The Okapi Wildlife Reserve was created with the help of the Okapi Conservation Project in 1992. The project continues to support the reserve by training and equipping wildlife guards and by providing assistance to improve the lives of neighboring communities. The Okapi Wildlife Reserve was added to the list of world heritage sites in danger in 1997. The main threats to the reserve are deforestation, primarily caused by slash and burn agriculture, and commercial hunting for the sale of bush meat. Gold mining has also been problematic to the Reserve. As of 2005, the fighting in the eastern part of the country moved within the boundaries of the Reserve, causing its staff to flee or be evacuated. While the native Mbuti and Bantu peoples traditionally respect the forest and its wildlife, immigrants into the area do not feel the same connection to the land. Lack of funding due to the poor political and economic conditions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has also been problematic. It is hoped that eco-tourism to the area can be developed, leading to both increased funding and improved public awareness.

History
Cultural practices that roughly equate to the establishment and maintenance of reserved areas for animals date back to antiquity, with King Devanampiya Tissa of Sri Lanka establishing one of the world's earliest wildlife sanctuaries in the 3rd century BC. Early reservations often had a religious underpinning, such as the 'evil forest' areas of West Africa which were forbidden to humans, who were threatened with spiritual attack if they went there. Sacred areas taboo from human entry to fishing and hunting are known by many ancient cultures worldwide.

Wildlife traditionally refers to non-domesticated animal species, but has come to include all plants, fungi, and other organisms that grow or live wild in an area without being introduced by humans.
Wildlife can be found in all ecosystems. Deserts, forests, rain forests, plains, grasslands, and other areas including the most developed urban sites, all have distinct forms of wildlife. While the term in popular culture usually refers to animals that are untouched by human factors, most scientists agree that much wildlife is affected by human activities.
Humans have historically tended to separate civilization from wildlife in a number of ways including the legal, social, and moral sense. Some animals, however, have adapted to suburban environments. This includes such animals as domesticated cats, dogs, mice, and gerbils.Some religions have often declared certain animals to be sacred, and in modern times concern for the natural environment has provoked activists to protest the exploitation of wildlife for human benefit or entertainment.

Wildlife (Anthony Phillips and Joji Hirota album)
Wildlife is the second collaboration between Anthony Phillips and Joji Hirota. The album is culled from recordings made between 1994 and 2000 when Anthony and Joji collaborated on a number of soundtracks for wildlife television programmes in the British Survival series. In addition, Anthony also wrote and recorded the music for a programme in the BBC series Natural World.
Wildlife features selections from the music for the programmes Creatures of the Magic Water (tracks 1-6), Secrets of the Amazon (tracks 7-11), Jaguar: Eater of Souls (tracks 12-13), Serengeti Jigsaw (tracks 14-15), Web of the Spider Monkey (track 16), Dungeons & Dragons (tracks 17-22), Secrets of a Norfolk Wood (tracks 23-25), Bears of the Russian Front (tracks 26-30), Gremlins: Faces in the Forest (track 31), Jurassic Shark (tracks 32-38), and Midway - Island of Life (tracks 39-45).
All programmes represented come from the Survival series except "Midway - Island of Life" which comes from Natural World.

Wildlife is an album by American jazz musician Joe Morris, which was recorded in 2008 and released on the AUM Fidelity label. It was the debut recording by a new group featuring saxophonist Petr Cancura and drummer Luther Gray. Morris plays bass instead of guitar.
Reception
In his review for AllMusic, Phil Freeman states "There's a lot of Ayler in Cancura's tone; he's a powerful player with a strong sense of melody, always retaining an essential cohesion within his solos, even at their most fervid. Gray is all over the kit, guiding the other two men and maintaining a forceful momentum."
The All About Jazz review by Troy Collins says that "The trio embraces a wide range of spatial dynamics on this expansive set, with the majority of their probing explorations conjuring the bristling frenzy of New Thing era expressionism."

NNRs showcase the best of conserved habitats and support engagement with nature for education and wellbeing. Natural England have designated over 200 of these gold-standard havens for wildlife across the country, joining up nature reserves in a growing Nature Recovery Network where wildlife can thrive and spread.

Many Americans trace the modern conservation movement back to President Theodore Roosevelt, known for his love of the outdoors and for creating the U.S. Forest Service and the national parks system.
But what if government isn’t the only, or the best, entity to protect America’s natural wonders?
The American Prairie Reserve is a nonprofit group that wants to establish the largest nature reserve in the lower 48 states and it aims to do so with private funding. So far, American Prairie Reserve owns or leases more than 300,000 acres with a goal of stitching together 3.5 million acres of private and federal land across to create a reserve 1.5 times the size of Yellowstone National Park. And they believe that their unique approach will reduce the tension with local ranchers and farmers that national parks often experience.
"Currently, wildlife has no economic value to ranchers and, as such, the ranchers don't want them around," says Pete Geddes, managing director of American Prairie Reserve.
But American Prairie Reserve aims to fix that problem with its Wild Sky Beef program. Wild Sky is a brand associated with a for-profit company, and the proceeds from its profits go towards funding incentives for ranchers to engage in wildlife-friendly practices such as creating gaps in their fences for herd animals to pass through, planting native grasses, and allowing prairie dogs to establish colonies on their property. The more benchmarks the ranchers meet, the bigger the payout.
"As we're successful and we gain more attention over time, you'll see other groups trying to put this together at a much larger scale," says Geddes.

Lions are top predators and they do not accept living with any predators in their territory. Discovering a herd of noisy wild dogs in the opposite forest, the dominant male lions fiercely rushed to attack. Too scared, the wild dog pups quickly ran away.
Hunger is the source of lions' cruel hunts. The lions hide in the bushes, they silently approach the zebra herd. When the distance was close enough, the lion began to accelerate and pounce on the nearby zebra, completely giving the zebra no chance to resist. The lion pride begins its meal right at the scene.
Desperately, despite the risks, the hyena clan tried to reach the lion pride's unfinished meal. Despite warnings from the lions, the hyena clan continued to make the lions really angry. The battle was fierce, more prominent in strength, the lions attacked ruthlessly, causing many hyenas to be seriously injured.
Hiding in the bushes, the crocodile quickly took over the food the lions had just hunted by the water hole. Hunger made the crocodile forget that the grassland was the lion's territory. The crocodile tried to run away under the fierce attack of the lion pride, the powerful claws of the lions continuously whipped the crocodile's body. Lions are top predators and they do not accept living with any predators in their territory. Discovering a herd of noisy wild dogs in the opposite forest, the dominant male lions fiercely rushed to attack. Too scared, the wild dog pups quickly ran away.
Hunger is the source of lions' cruel hunts. The lions hide in the bushes, they silently approach the zebra herd. When the distance was close enough, the lion began to accelerate and pounce on the nearby zebra, completely giving the zebra no chance to resist. The lion pride begins its meal right at the scene.
Desperately, despite the risks, the hyena clan tried to reach the lion pride's unfinished meal. Despite warnings from the lions, the hyena clan continued to make the lions really angry. The battle was fierce, more prominent in strength, the lions attacked ruthlessly, causing many hyenas to be seriously injured.
Hiding in the bushes, the crocodile quickly took over the food the lions had just hunted by the water hole. Hunger made the crocodile forget that the grassland was the lion's territory. The crocodile tried to run away under the fierce attack of the lion pride, the powerful claws of the lions continuously whipped the crocodile's body. Welcome to WILD LIFE the next season in the Wild Life series. This time, there will be a different twist that affects the game every session/episode (only one person episode). The twists may or may not present some danger to the participants.
This season, we have 6 lives. 4-6 Lives you have a dark green name. 3 lives you have a lime green name. 2 lives you have a yellow name and on your last and final life, you turn hostile and red. The last player standing, wins. Dark green names are able to have lives stolen from them when killed by a red or yellow life. Only Red names can kill anyone.
There are lots of little details to be revealed as the series goes on.
PSA: The server was a little laggy during this session due to 18 people being online and poor optimization, we will hopefully have this improved for the rest of the series.

Description: A nature reserve is a protected area of importance for wildlife, flora, fauna or features of geological or other special interest, which is reserved and managed for conservation and to provide special opportunities for study or research. Nature reserves may be designated by government institutions in some countries, or by private landowners, such as charities and research institutions, regardless of nationality. Many Americans trace the modern conservation movement back to President Theodore Roosevelt, known for his love of the outdoors and for creating the U.S. Forest Service and the national parks system.
But what if government isn’t the only, or the best, entity to protect America’s natural wonders?
The American Prairie Reserve is a nonprofit group that wants to establish the largest nature reserve in the lower 48 states and it aims to do so with private funding. So far, American Prairie Reserve owns or leases more than 300,000 acres with a goal of stitching together 3.5 million acres of private and federal land across to create a reserve 1.5 times the size of Yellowstone National Park. And they believe that their unique approach will reduce the tension with local ranchers and farmers that national parks often experience.
"Currently, wildlife has no economic value to ranchers and, as such, the ranchers don't want them around," says Pete Geddes, managing director of American Prairie Reserve.
But American Prairie Reserve aims to fix that problem with its Wild Sky Beef program. Wild Sky is a brand associated with a for-profit company, and the proceeds from its profits go towards funding incentives for ranchers to engage in wildlife-friendly practices such as creating gaps in their fences for herd animals to pass through, planting native grasses, and allowing prairie dogs to establish colonies on their property. The more benchmarks the ranchers meet, the bigger the payout.
"As we're successful and we gain more attention over time, you'll see other groups trying to put this together at a much larger scale," says Geddes.

Okapi Wildlife Reserve
The Okapi Wildlife Reserve is a World Heritage Site in the Ituri Forest in the north-east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, near the borders with Sudan and Uganda. At approximately 14,000 km², it covers approximately one fifth of the area of the forest.
Location
The Nepoko, Ituri and Epulu rivers flow through the reserve. The imposing Mbiya Mountain overlooks the Epulu village. The reserve is home to about 5,000 okapi, 4,000 elephants, 2,000 leopards, chimpanzees and crocodiles. Other Ituri rain forest animals include forest buffalo, water chevrotain, and forest elephants. The reserve has over 300 species of bird, and is one of the most important sites for bird conservation in mainland Africa. Nomadic Mbuti pygmies and indigenous Bantu farmers also live within the reserve.
History
The Okapi Wildlife Reserve was created with the help of the Okapi Conservation Project in 1992. The project continues to support the reserve by training and equipping wildlife guards and by providing assistance to improve the lives of neighboring communities. The Okapi Wildlife Reserve was added to the list of world heritage sites in danger in 1997. The main threats to the reserve are deforestation, primarily caused by slash and burn agriculture, and commercial hunting for the sale of bush meat. Gold mining has also been problematic to the Reserve. As of 2005, the fighting in the eastern part of the country moved within the boundaries of the Reserve, causing its staff to flee or be evacuated. While the native Mbuti and Bantu peoples traditionally respect the forest and its wildlife, immigrants into the area do not feel the same connection to the land. Lack of funding due to the poor political and economic conditions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo has also been problematic. It is hoped that eco-tourism to the area can be developed, leading to both increased funding and improved public awareness.

Lions are top predators and they do not accept living with any predators in their territory. Discovering a herd of noisy wild dogs in the opposite forest, the dominant male lions fiercely rushed to attack. Too scared, the wild dog pups quickly ran away.
Hunger is the source of lions' cruel hunts. The lions hide in the bushes, they silently approach the zebra herd. When the distance was close enough, the lion began to accelerate and pounce on the nearby zebra, completely giving the zebra no chance to resist. The lion pride begins its meal right at the scene.
Desperately, despite the risks, the hyena clan tried to reach the lion pride's unfinished meal. Despite warnings from the lions, the hyena clan continued to make the lions really angry. The battle was fierce, more prominent in strength, the lions attacked ruthlessly, causing many hyenas to be seriously injured.
Hiding in the bushes, the crocodile quickly took over the food the lions had just hunted by the water hole. Hunger made the crocodile forget that the grassland was the lion's territory. The crocodile tried to run away under the fierce attack of the lion pride, the powerful claws of the lions continuously whipped the crocodile's body. With great difficulty, the crocodile was able to escape the attack and luckily returned to the river alive.
The lion pride surrounded and attacked the powerful buffalo. A wild buffalo that reacted slowly was captured by lions, who surrounded and controlled its prey from all sides. The wild buffalo is becoming quite panicked and confused. The brutal attack of pride caused the buffalo to gradually weaken and finally fall. The lion pride quickly finishes off its prey and enjoys the meal.

Wild Life: Episode 1 - ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN!
Welcome to WILD LIFE the next season in the Wild Life series. This time, there will be a different twist that affects the game every session/episode (only one person episode). The twists may or may not present some danger to the participants.
This season, we have 6 lives. 4-6 Lives you have a dark green name. 3 lives you have a lime green name. 2 lives you have a yellow name and on your last and final life, you turn hostile and red. The last player standing, wins. Dark green names are able to have lives stolen from them when killed by a red or yellow life. Only Red names can kill anyone.
There are lots of little details to be revealed as the series goes on.
PSA: The server was a little laggy during this session due to 18 people being online and poor optimization, we will hopefully have this improved for the rest of the series.
