"Morning Has Broken" is a popular and well-known Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and is set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as "Bunessan" (it shares this tune with the 19th century Christmas Carol "Child in the Manger"). It is often sung in children's services. English pop musician and folk singer Cat Stevens (known as Yusuf Islam since 1978 after becoming a Muslim in 1977) included a version on his 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. The song became identified with Stevens when it reached number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and number one on the U.S. easy listening chart in 1972.
The hymn originally appeared in the second edition of Songs of Praise (published in 1931), to the tune "Bunessan", composed in the Scottish Islands. In Songs of Praise Discussed, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks for each day, English poet and children's author Eleanor Farjeon had been "asked to make a poem to fit the lovely Scottish tune". A slight variation on the original hymn, also written by Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a poem contributed to the anthology Children's Bells, under Farjeon's new title, "A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring)", published by Oxford University Press in 1957. The song is noted in 9/4 time but with a 3/4 feel.
"Morning Has Broken" is a song by The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, released as their debut single, and appearing on their first album, Horse of the Dog. It got very little airplay and never reached the Top 40. The video can be seen rarely on MTV2's 120 Minutes.
The video comprises clips of the band playing live.
Michael Valentine "Val" Doonican (3 February 1927 – 1 July 2015) was an Irish singer of traditional pop, easy listening, and novelty songs, who was noted for his warm and relaxed style. A crooner, he found popular success, especially in the United Kingdom where he had five successive Top 10 albums in the 1960s as well as several hits on the UK Singles Chart, including "Walk Tall" and "Elusive Butterfly". The Val Doonican Show, which featured his singing and a variety of guests, had a long and successful run on BBC Television from 1965 to 1986 and Doonican won the Variety Club of Great Britain's BBC-TV Personality of the Year award three times. Doonican had a gentle baritone voice and, according to The Guardian, he had "an easygoing, homely charm that enchanted middle England".
Doonican was born on 3 February 1927 in Waterford, Ireland, the youngest of the eight children of Agnes (née Kavanagh) and John Doonican. He was from a musical family and played in his school band from the age of six. In 1941 when he was a teenager his father died, so he had to leave De La Salle College Waterford, to get factory jobs fabricating steel and making orange and grapefruit boxes. He began to perform in his hometown, often with his friend Bruce Clarke, and they had their first professional engagement as a duo in 1947. Doonican appeared in a summer season at Courtown Harbour, County Wexford. He soon featured on Irish radio, sometimes with Clarke, and appeared in Waterford's first-ever television broadcast. Then he played the drums in a band on a tour through Ireland.

The Holy voices speaking, words I can't recall
And I do still believe if I believe in anything at all
All you hear in me and all you hear
I thought I saw you walking down by a street yesterday
I thought I heard your voice though I could not hear
just what you say and I am waiting
And I'm waiting here for you
I am whispering your name
I am telling to the wind
Your love has brought me here
'Til I see you again
I am opening the door
I will let this moment in
Your love will find me here
'Til I see you again
And I can still remember as I write down these words
The music in your voice and the silence of the universe
And I am singing
Now I'm singing here for you
I am whispering your name
I am telling to the wind
Your love has brought me here
'Til I see you again
I am opening the door
I will let this moment in
Your love will find me here
'Til I see you again......
I am whispering your name
I am telling to the wind
Your love will brought me here
'Til I see you again
I am opening the door
I will let this moment in
Your love can find me here
'Til i see you again
