I did manage to get it running on the last video, but the ground was just far too wet to try to do anything. With it drying out slightly, I thought I’d return to answer the question will it start and actually drive out of its watery, overgrown grave, one last time. Thanks to everyone for watching.

PETROL vs DIESEL Engines - An in-depth COMPARISON
In this video we're doing a detailed comparison of petrol, or spark ignition and diesel, or compression ignition engines. The video covers pretty much all the key points, starting with the differences in the way combustion occurs as well as explaining the diesel combustion process in detail. After this we're explaining why diesel engines don't rev as high and after that the topics are compression ratios, power and torque, efficiency, emissions and fun factor.
In essence diesel and petrol engines share a very similar anatomy, and that makes sense because they're both internal combustion engines, meaning they do their combustion internally. What's different is HOW they do their combustion. Petrol engines rely on a spark to ignite the air fuel mixture, while diesels completely forgo spark p...

Britain's Most Powerful Diesel - HS4000 Kestrel
Hello everybody! :D
In a bid to develop a 125mph diesel locomotive for the British railway network, Hawker Siddeley, in collaboration with Brush Traction, created the 4,000hp HS4000 Kestrel, a unique prototype that became Britain's most powerful single-engined diesel upon its launch in 1967, but would sadly never see a subsequent production fleet released in its wake due to the changing policies of the BR management towards the APT and the HST of the 1970s.
Instead, the HS4000, despite its incredible technology that was leaps and bounds beyond BR's contemporary locomotive roster, as well as its sheer power, would lead a short and inauspicious life in the UK before being shipped to the Soviet Union, where its power unit was found to be more useful than the locomotive itself, thus resultin...

Have you ever wondered why diesel car sales experienced a boom in Europe but nowhere else in the world?
To answer this we must begin way back in 1973, with the first oil crisis which occurred the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries or OPEC initiated a total oil embargo. The result was a shock and dramatic shortage of crude oil that caused the price of a barrel of oil and derived products to increase by 300% shortly after the embargo was put into place.
The problem with the European oil processing industry in the years after the 1973 oil crisis was that they no longer had buyers for their heavy distillates because the energy generation and heating systems of Europe had transitioned to other sources.
But oil refineries weren’t the only ones impacted by the oil crisis. Vehicle manufacturers also suffered because the dramatic increase in fuel prices lead to a dramatic decrease in car sales.
So manufacturers sought to offer buyers more fuel efficient alternatives in the form of vehicles with diesel engines which are naturally more fuel efficient than their gasoline counterparts. The main reasons behind this being that diesel engines naturally operate at noticeably higher compression ratios, they don’t need a homogenous air fuel mixture and don’t require a throttle body to function which means that they can run at very lean air fuel ratios and don’t suffer from pumping losses.
Faced with reduced taxation, improved fuel economy and better performance and driveability in the real world many buyers started started switching to diesel engined cars. If we look at the data it becomes obvious how dieselisation was never a matter of user preference or different tastes in Europe and the US or other countries. If we compare Japan and Europe we can observe very similar low rates of diesel share in the market. The markets only start diverging when European legislation started strongly favoring diesels and creating incentives for buyers. If we observe Europe on a country by country basis we can see that diesel adoption is highest in countries like France for example where legislation and taxation was very favourabnle for diesels.
But initially it appeared thst the mass dieselisation of the vehicle market was a win for everyone in Europe. Oil refineries got a market for their products. Consumers got better cars. Car makers got profits. C02 emissions got reduced. Almost sounds too good to be true. .Well pretty soon it became clear that it indeed all was too good to be true because as time moved on and emissions standards became more stringent it became evident that getting diesel engines to meet new emissions standards was far harder than it was originally envisaged by the Auto Oil 1 and 2 programmes.
And so Manufacturers started reducing the compression ratio of diesel engines to reduce nitrogen oxide emissions. Which sort of defeats the purpose of a diesel engine because reducing the compression ratio also reduced efficiency and power output. To restore power manufacturers increased the boost pressure from the turbocharger which lead to increased C02 emissions which ultimately resulted in equivalent diesel and petrol engines having pretty much the same power output and the same C02 emissions.
But in 2015 it became evident just how far manufacturers were stretching the truth when it was discovered that VW had to cheat to meet US emissions tests. They reprogrammed their diesel vehicles to be able to detect when they are undergoing emissions testing and then run the engine in a reduced performance mode in order to generate reduced emissions and pass the test. When not being tested and driven in normal conditions the vehicles were actually emitting 14 times more nitrogen oxides then the allowable US limit and 3 times more than the Euro 5 emissions standard.

Petrol engines rely on a spark to ignite the air fuel mixture, while diesels completely forgo spark plugs, ignition coils and the like in favor an ignition started simply be the heat of the compressed air inside the engine. And this results in one of the few differences in anatomy between petrol and diesel engines. Most modern diesel engines actually don't have a combustion chamber, instead the smallest volume of their cylinder is achieved by void in the piston. Therefore, diesel engines have a smaller smallest volume of the cylinder achieving a higher compression ratio.
A higher compression ratio means more power and more efficiency. Because the air fuel mixture combusts in a smaller area more energy is transferred onto the piston resulting in the harnessing of more of the energy stored in the fuel. But there's a price to be paid for the higher efficiency generated by compression ignition, and that's cylinder pressure spikes generated during the diesel's combustion process. As you may know, most diesel engines rev to anywhere between 4500 to 5500 rpm. On the other hand petrol engines usually rev to anywhere between 6000 to 9000 rpm. Now there's a couple of reasons for this. The first one is that the cylinder pressure spikes require heavy internals. The other one is that most diesels are under-square by design, but the final reason is key, and that is that diesels don't have a wide range of ignition timing control. They can't control ignition timing to compensate for increased piston speeds, because they can start combustion only when the air is hot enough, and the air is always hottest when the piston is near top dead center. On the other hand a petrol engine with an ECU, a spark plug and an ignition coil or coil on plug can fire the spark almost at any point in the engine's compression stroke.
We all know that diesels are also more efficient engines. Again, the reason is a higher compression ratio and the ability to squeeze more power from the fuel. The other reason is that diesels simply use less fuel. They have a stratified or heterogeneous air fuel mixture, meaning that only one part of the air is mixing with the fuel, allowing diesels to run extremely lean. On the other hand petrol engines compress a homogeneous air fuel mixture meaning that they have to worry about knock occurring which limits their compression ratio. Diesels introduce fuel much later into the cylinder, at the end of the compression stroke, before that they compress only air, meaning that knock isn't an issue. Diesel fuel itself is also more energy dense. Because it's composed of hydrocarbons with longer chains it contains approximately 15% energy for the same volume.
When it comes to emissions and pollution, diesel and petrol emissions have been traditionally presented as a trade off between environment harming C02 and health harming nitrogen oxides and soot particles. But the picture isn't really black and white and many independent road tests have demonstrated that the CO2 gap between modern petrol and diesel engines is extremely low. On top of this EURO 6 or equivalent standard diesel engines are very clean, and rely on diesel particulate filters and diesel exhaust fluid injection (selective catalytic reduction) to trap close to 99% of the soot particles and nitrogen oxides. Problems arise when diesel cars hit the used car markets. Because of their more expensive emissions equipment maintenance becomes a problem for used car owners often resulting in more overall pollution from the diesels.
Fun is a subjective thing and fact is that both diesel and petrol engines can be extremely fun. Petrol engines have a wide power band and often a better soundtrack leading to more smiles per gallon on a twisty road. But diesel give you incredible torque sensations and these can be extremely addictive.

Instead, the HS4000, despite its incredible technology that was leaps and bounds beyond BR's contemporary locomotive roster, as well as its sheer power, would lead a short and inauspicious life in the UK before being shipped to the Soviet Union, where its power unit was found to be more useful than the locomotive itself, thus resulting in this formidable machine being reduced to an engineless shell rotting in a yard outside Moscow.

The Godfather Of Sour Diesel Pot Returns To New York
Joe Murray, the legendary grower behind the cult chronic Sour Diesel, made his name in the black market 20 years ago. Now he’s trying to find sweet success in a chaotic legal cannabis industry.
The man known in New York’s weed scene as “Asshole Joe,” a semi-affectionate moniker for the silver-haired, craggy-voiced 50-year-old pot legend Joe Murray, grew and sold cannabis in the city when it was really illegal. And he has the stories to prove it.
In 1994, a few years before Murray would popularize the cannabis varietal known as Sour Diesel, one of the most-sought-after strains of marijuana that fetched as much as $15,000 a pound back in the day, his best friend was brutally murdered—his head was bashed in with a hammer while trying to collect money owed to him. Seed to Strain: AJ Sour Diesel
In this episode of Seed to Strain, MERRY JANE spotlights the development of one of the most popular sativa strains ever, Sour Diesel. Many daytime smokers who want to be productive favor the bud, which is known for its long-lasting cerebral high and jolt of energy.
Sour Diesel developer AJ, who refers to himself not as its creator but its “servant and keeper,” takes us back to the beginning, in the early ’90s in NYC, when good weed was an expensive rarity and Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s Quality of Life/Broken Windows policing strategy made smoking in public extremely risky. Watch the video to learn about the origins of Sour Diesel and its name (which has nothing to do with its taste).

ABOUT Sour Diesel bred by ILGM - I love growing marijuana
This is a Sativa forward blend with 60% Sativa and 40% indica. It acts fast and brings a powerful cerebral response that energizes you without leaving you jittery. On it you get a dreamlike high that carries you through the day.
Sour Diesel Strain Origin
Created in the 1990s in California, this strain has a lot of legends, but few facts. Fans claim it descends from Super Skunk and Chemdawg 91. What is known is that it is one of the best genetic hybrids on the market today.
Growing Sour Diesel Seeds
Feminized Seeds
These are feminized seeds. Female plants, contrary to male plants, are the ones that actually produce weed. They start flowering when they receive less light per day, i.e. in the Fall or when you manipulate the light cycle indoors.
We guarantee that your seeds will sprout and advise reading our germination instructions for guaranteed results.
Best Climate For Sour Diesel
Sour Diesel grows best in sunny, warm areas. Growers consider it a difficult strain to cultivate outdoors because it's prone to powdery mildew. If you want to grow outside you want a dry and hot climate. The less humidity, the better.
If growing indoors, you are going to want to use high-intensity lights in a dry, sterile room. Indoors it's easy to keep the plant compact and, on average, takes about 10 weeks for flowering. To learn more about cultivating both indoors and out, check out our grow guides to get your best grow right the first time!
Outdoors these ladies can get big (think Brienne of Tarth big). If you have the right climate, go for it! These big ladies produce massive yields.
Feeding Your Plants
Bergman's Marijuana Fertilizers will help your Sour Diesel grow each step of the way. Be sure to get the correct NPK nutrients so you maximize the results fo your yield.
This sturdy, bushy cannabis plant is very resistant to diseases, molds, and pests that commonly affect growing marijuana.
If you want to be sure your plants are well protected from molds and bugs, our marijuana protector sets go well with even the most resilient of strains.
Flowering & Yield
When growing indoors, Sour Diesel plants take about 9 to 10 weeks of flowering before you can cut your plants. Under the right circumstances, you can yield around 16 ounces in a 3x3ft area.
If growing outdoors, expect to harvest sometime November at the latest. Sour Diesel performs very well outdoors, and with enough sunlight and proper feeding, you can have a monster bush on your hands.

----Intended for the 18 & over----
Sebastian Good tells you all about Fastbuds Sour Diesel Auto.
Here is some more info on the Strain:
An easy to grow and hardy strain growers of all levels can appreciate. High in THC levels, reaching 21% with the world-famous fuel, citrus, sandalwood, and pine flavor that comes with this vintage Sativa dominant hybrid. Despite her Sativa influence, flowering time will only require 9-10 weeks from seed to harvest, making her ideal for growers who want classic, overpowering, pungent, sour terps in a short time frame. She may grow as tall as 120cm in height and will produce long, stacked buds typical of Sativa Cannabis. Her effects are energetic and clear-minded, that over time will develop into a dreamy focused buzz. An excellent choice for commercial growers and hash makers and extractors.
Bud description
Sour Diesel Auto has a very jagged bud structure, that could be described as long, yet elongated. The calyx will point outwards like a star formation, with a lime green color behind a silver blanket of trichomes. The nugs are very dense and hard for their large size and have a highly demandable bag appeal. When handling a dry flower, your fingers will quickly become coated in a greasy resin that lingers of pure gas, citrus, and fuel.
Smoke report
This lady can be deceptive with her sour, pungent, chemical fuel terpene profile into making you think she is a Kush variety. However, Original Auto Sour Diesel has an effect that is much an expression of her Sativa heritage and will keep you on a soaring, cerebral wave that with enhance creativity, energy levels, and motivation. A really great strain to enjoy in public amongst friends, working on a creative project or gaming.
Plant Appearance
She can grow on the taller side and reach a height of 120cm due to her Sativa influence, where she will grow with medium-sized internodal spacing with a large number of side branches. When flowering, Sour Diesel Auto will produce up to 450-550gr/m2 of large-sized nugs, making her a large producing autoflowering strain.
Grow Tips
Only for experienced growers it is advised to perform L.S.T on plants for those with limited space. Tying down her long side branches will also allow the plants to focus her energy on producing huge colas. Hash makers and extractors will have plenty of leaf and sugar trim to use, so prepare in advance. Outdoors this hybrid performs incredibly well, especially in hotter climate zones. But, she can also handle cold nights well so it can be a good choice for colder climates, and will ripen with a dark purple color, making her even more special looking. This girl likes to drink nutrients, but avoid feeding too late during flower to improve the final taste, quality of ash, and overall experience.
Flavor
The flavor of Sour Diesel Auto is a complex mixture of sandalwood, pepper, earth with notes of sour citrus. A heavyweight in the terps department and a true representation of fuel and gas cultivars.

Hey guys, no episode this week but I'm gonna do my best to get you guys a few videos anyway. Here is some of the sour diesel we picked up a few days ago from Elemental Wellness Center. Right at about 16% THC, very flavorful flower with a great uplifting effect, excellent for a daytime/wake n bake strain.
