According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 70.4 square miles (182km2), of which 70.4 square miles (182km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26km2) (0.10%) is water.
Ontonagon County (/ˌɒntəˈnɑːɡən/ON-tə-NAH-gən) is a county located in the Upper peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 census, the population was 6,780, making it the third-least populous county in Michigan. The county seat is Ontonagon. The county was set off in 1843, and organized in 1848. Its territory had originally been organized as part of Chippewa and Mackinac counties. With increasing population in the area, more counties were organized. After Ontonagon was organized, it was split to create Gogebic County.
The county is named after the Ontonagon River. The name is said to be derived from an Ojibwe language word Nondon-organ, meaning "hunting river." A French transliteration, Nantounagon, identified the river on a 1670 French map. Alternatively, it is said to be derived from the Ojibwaonagon, which means "dish" or "bowl."SeeList of Michigan county name etymologies.
Geography
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 3,741 square miles (9,690km2), of which 1,311 square miles (3,400km2) is land and 2,430 square miles (6,300km2) (65%) is water. It is the third-largest county in Michigan by area.
Michigan is the only state to consist of two peninsulas. The Lower Peninsula, to which the name Michigan was originally applied, is often noted to be shaped like a mitten. The Upper Peninsula (often referred to as "the U.P.") is separated from the Lower Peninsula by the Straits of Mackinac, a five-mile (8km) channel that joins Lake Huron to Lake Michigan. The two peninsulas are connected by the Mackinac Bridge. The state has the longest freshwater coastline of any political subdivision in the world, being bounded by four of the five Great Lakes, plus Lake Saint Clair. As a result, it is one of the leading U.S. states for recreational boating. Michigan also has 64,980 inland lakes and ponds. A person in the state is never more than six miles (9.7km) from a natural water source or more than 85 miles (137km) from a Great Lakes shoreline.
Michigan: Report from Hell, released as Michigan in Japan, is a survival horror game developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and published by Spike. It was released in Japan on August 5, 2004, in Europe on September 30, 2005, and in Australia in 2005. This game was never released in North America. Directed by Akira Ueda and planned by Goichi Suda, the game focuses on a news crew for the fictional ZaKa TV, dedicated to covering strange phenomena. The game is unique in the sense that it is played almost entirely though the viewfinder of a camera; and the game is lost if the player runs out of film before solving the mysteries in a mission.
Plot
In Michigan, players take the role of a rookie cameraman for ZaKa TV, the entertainment division of the powerful ZaKa conglomerate. Accompanied by Brisco, an outspoken sound engineer, and Pamela, a reporter, the player is sent to investigate a mysterious mist that has descended over the city. The player quickly discovers that the mist is somehow transforming people into fleshy, leech-like monsters with human limbs. Pamela is attacked by the creatures, and is later found in the process of transforming into one. The player, Brisco, and a new female reporter are sent to investigate the source of the monster outbreak.

Of all the amazing things we saw in the Michigan Upper Peninsula, this was a definite favorite. The restoration is done solely by volunteers. The volunteer guide's enthusiasm for the project was refreshing. It was great to see people restoring and maintaining their heritage.

Take a step back in time and witness the way the miners once lived at Old Victoria Restoration. There once stood over 60 cabins but the remaining four hold memories and artifacts from everyday life on this little homestead. See how they used to enjoy music, sew their own clothes, and even how they used to make cinnamon rolls in a wood oven. Touring these cabins is great for the whole family!

Bond Falls time lapse Ontonagon County, Michigan
My first waterfall on my third trip to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2013 was Bond Falls in Ontonagon County. This is the largest waterfall attraction in Western Michigan and that means lots of people with cameras. I ended up meeting and talking to one of the few true artists when I was there, Levent Eryilmaz.
The weather was quite dreary and it looked like it would start raining at anytime, as usual, I had my umbrella with me. Turns out, I didn't need it at all. My last visit warranted an umbrella the whole time I was here. The falls are quite large and tough to get all of the angles I wanted. Using the wooden pathway would have been ideal but footsteps bounce the wooden planks too much for my work.

Bonanza Falls Ontonagon County Michigan time lapse
My final stop of the day was Bonanza Falls also known as Greenwood Falls. After having spent most of the day driving, standing in the rain or massive bugs, the blue skies and bug free environment was a nice treat at the end of the day. Bonanza Falls is an easy find being right on M-64 and a mile south of Silver City. What makes this an interesting waterfall is all of the diagonal rock creating really cool water drops. I was tired after a long day of driving and hiking so I messed up on quite a few series of shots by not turning my autofocus off during the shoot. I remembered for the next one.....
